Wow. If ever sexism is apparent, it's when a female sliced apart by a fricking airplane propeller is still reduced to a "hot or not" object. Y'all are something pretty special.
hot writer/editor schools immature pilot bloggers!Wow. If ever sexism is apparent, it's when a female sliced apart by a fricking airplane propeller is still reduced to a "hot or not" object. Y'all are something pretty special.

Oh give it a rest. Sexism is and was apparent long after the feminism movement of the 90's. This is news to you? You get a group of women in a group together around a table, and y'all say the most profane and sexually objectifying stuff imaginable. Or are you "above" THAT? It's what we do. We ALL do it. We judge each other on appearance, if we did not, you wouldn't give a rip about whatever flavor of the moment pseudo-celeb is wearing, or dating, or shagging, or seen around, and what they were all wearing. We judge by appearance. Guys are just a bit more "public" about it.
Second, you're in a completely male dominated career. It started that way, it will stay that way. Just more Type A personality types with us males. These types of shenanigans are new to you? Or are you just one of the women who are "committed to taking a stand for all woman-kind" and calling out any perceived offense of "woman objectifaction"?
Most of us are married, dating, and friends with lots of women at this juncture in our lives. We're all keenly aware of the double standards women tend to throw around. I'm not buying it.
Let's stay on track here... She a fashion blogger, not a "women's fashion mag editor", and she's a solid 4.

fine then... (it's a C-12)I was going to sort of agree with Bumblebee (and SC), but then I saw that his avatar gives every appearance of being a Beech 99. YOU ARE NOW MY SWORN ENEMY!@

A200... The 90 equivalent is U-21Oh, yeah. It's just a Kingair 90. You may live. Barely.

You may still live, though. I am a just and merciful Interwebz King.

I agree with maybe about 10% of what SC says most of the time and find her to a bit over the top on feminist issues, but she is 100% correct here. We are talking about a human being getting seriously injured via an obvious accident and there are 50% jokes in this thread. This isn't even a celebrity that people had already formed opinions on this is an everyday person who got hurt and like she said "Y'all" got jokes.

Humor, I think, is one thing to help people cope with and understand an incident like this, masturbatory fantasies about someone who was almost decapitated... well... that's a little weird. Legal and totally within the rules, but just a little heavy on the creepy user angle.
Lauren's parents Cheryl and Jeff Scruggs said that they believe the 23-year-old walked back toward Richmond's plane at the private airport north of Dallas to say a final thank you, perhaps as he was preparing to take off again.
What you seem to have taken from the jokes is more offensive than the jokes.
Masturbatory Fantasies > Near Decapitation? Sweet!
Yeah, the fact that women are still often treated more as an object than a person (this thread is evidence of that fact) couldn't be a reason to continue trying to get the word out to receptive and enlightened males. If people tried half of the slurs ( and I think that they often still do) to races it wouldn't be tolerated nearly so much as it is towards women. It's just a joke...she must be having her time of the month...what a bitch.... Whatever.Yeah, I think SC is usually way over the top with the feminist stuff, but in this case, the jokes really are in poor taste.
