Skywest Questions

Oh okay, after this trip if all goes as scheduled I will have 25 hours. That is about 12 hours less than the original amount that was scheduled for the two trips. I'm sure my LCA will let me know by the end of this trip. I was told I can request more IOE, I'm just not clear if that turns in to a training issue and makes me a special tracking new hire or not..
I am by no means an expert on the subject. With that said:

It won't be an issue. You can email the IOE coordinators and tell them the situation. Your first trip was cut short and you would like some more to be comfortable. I think you have 50 hours or so. Over that they may start asking the LCAs questions about your performance. Then again, they may automatically assign more IOE because the first trip was cut short. But they're pretty busy, so it may get overlooked as well, unless you request more.

You'll get as much IOE as needed till you are signed off. If you need more than 50 hours of IOE, you'll probably go into special tracking. Less than that and there is no problem getting you more IOE if the LCA determines you need more.

Right on. Thanks for the input!

What's so big about special tracking? They will just keep in touch and line check at some point right?

Multiple line checks and an extra CQ Session at your 6 month point (vs 1 year). It's not that big a deal, but you can't get checked out for special qualification airports such as Aspen or Eagle if you are in special tracking.

Or it shines light on a flawed staffing model. Also, when did you take the job in management?
Uh, well, I didn't.

I haven't dropped *ANYTHING* since 2014, and the fact that somebody can jettison a MFR turn and block me from dropping a 4-day was patently offensive between 2015 and 2017.

I'll agree with you on that note. Does suck seeing above min reserve, throwing a drop in the system for the entire trip only to have it denied due to insufficient reserves. Uh, what?! Then you check open time and see some minuscule turn has been dropped thus blocking you.

But...I have both lost and won at that game.
