Skywest Questions

Losing 60 people in a month is the highest number of pilots that SkyWest has ever lost in one month. It simply can't be planned for.

Actually I sat in a meeting a few years back with the bosses and we discussed this very possibility. Soooo there's that.

So the most junior CA is around 2000? 2200?
You'd have waited a smidge longer and had more adventures, if that was your question; 'course, like I told you when you left, I was considering it too. Meh. I don't regret staying here, all other things considered.

(forward-looking statement, of course)

That eventuality has become a reality. My guess is that it will take a little time to move the ship to the new course.

When would you be flowing if you stayed at your last place?
Hard to say, and I would defer to @Gonzo (or anyone still hangin' at the Beagle) who probably has more current information on that. Almost everyone I was in class with left either laterally or vertically (including hiring at Delta, in at least one case), so that particular flow arrangement didn't really keep many of my contemporaries around.

Type ratings at a regional is like winning a middle school sports league championship.

Strive for ones that start with an A or B.
-shrugs-

I mean, I think flying ALL the things is pretty cool, and I'd love to have one that starts with A or B (or D, actually...), along with the rules and pay to match.

Ahh you know that was a very tough call. Honestly I've had more adventures in a few months in the left seat than I've ever had in the right seat.

You wouldn't have been able to collect the coveted CRJ type here, but you'd have a grip of jungle jet PIC by now.

No doubt.

New member here. Had a few questions about OO. Since the topic at hand is about the CRJ staffing, my questions are for the CRJ side. Is it difficult to manage a decent QOL of life with the 90+ hour months? Are you guys and gals able to get more than the min days off?

CRJ FO here running mostly 90-95 hours a month. Getting 14-18 days off per month. I'm definitely happy with QOL. But I'm also bidding <20% right now.
