Skywest Questions

"Applicant, I see you've been on the 175 for a number of months with not a lot of flight time. How did you use that time, on reserve I gather, to forward your career?"

I AM SO ASKING THAT QUESTION. Thanks for the idea! :)
"Have you heard of Amway?"

"You see, I got my girl pregnant. How does that forward my career? Well, it guarantees that a few times a year my child's grandparents will have to fly out to visit. If you hire me they will only fly on our airline. Then they will tell their friends to only fly our airline. I can guarantee that at least 4 family members will fly twice a year, and let's be honest, that's a good revenue stream. This revenue insures that your airline stays in business. If you stay in business, and hire me, then that gives me a job till I retire. So, you see, my 5 seconds of glory is guaranteeing me a job until I'm forced to retire. When do I start?"

No?

No?

"Directing back toward the actual question, how is your day going? I hope the wait wasn't too long." :)

"Does that mean I got the job?"

"Sir, I'm not able to make that decision, but I will grade your resume, it goes from me to our IT team. Here is a card which reflects a few pointers and the next steps in the evaluation process, I hope you have a great day and thanks for coming to see us"

"One second. Someone just commented on my Facebook job fair selfie. I gotta respond."

Do not pull out your cellphone and (a) send a text off or (b) scroll through a screen capture of your online application to say, "well, it's all here you know".

This.

Happens.

I went to Vegas and have some interesting pics with great friends from the industry. Do you remember those days?

What's the odds of requesting OBR out there and actually working?
On the 175 I have no idea, I got OBR several times on the CRJ from Minny.

Call and tell them you're willing

You will have to travel to Chicago first and then deadhead back. At least in my experience.

The answer, as you well know, is that reserve is a duty to be performed in accordance with the T&C of employment...

There was a card?

Just curious, on the CRJ side what is the easiest commute from PDX? I want to eventually end up in PHX and move my lady out there but heard that is senior. This is assuming I even get a call back from the app I submitted yesterday :) Right now Skywest and Horizon are my two top options. Skywest seems more stable, just crappier commutes and more time away from home by the sound of it
