So I have this strange feeling with all the transitions that are about to happen and all the new 175s going to the west coast, that ORD is about to go pretty senior. Thoughts?
The 175 may end up a senior aircraft but ORD will always be the most junior base for that aircraft. So I have this strange feeling with all the transitions that are about to happen and all the new 175s going to the west coast, that ORD is about to go pretty senior. Thoughts?
I know this industry, especially the regional level is unpredictable. But is the CRJ flying in DEN or COS going to be disappearing in the future? I know no one knows but it seems like a shift is coming once again and I'm wondering about security of the domicile.
The DTW flying will be for Delta. COS and DEN crews don't do much DL flying. And if they do, it's certainly not through MSP, where most of the crews are doing DTW/ATL trips. Heck, I think there's only 2 flights a day in COS on the DL side...to SLC. Don't think that's going to disappear with a DTW base.I know this industry, especially the regional level is unpredictable. I doubt either would close, but I could see the DEN CRJ base in particular shrinking a lot. Not because of DTW, though. If it does, it's because we have 52 700s coming off contract with United in a two year time span and it doesn't seem that they're doing a very good job of resigning those planes (with United, anyways). As those come offline, I expect they'll remove them from IAH and DEN rather than SFO or ORD.Huh? I've been based in both domiciles for years and have no idea why you'd think that.

Quick question,
I'm headed to class in SLC on the 23rd on May. It says to bring my logbooks for inspection. I don't keep my paper ones up to date as my electronic logbook on my laptop is always updated. For the interview in March I printed off my logbook and had it bound. Do I need to have it printed off again tmrw or will my laptop suffice? I'm fine with doing it but if I don't have to spend $30 I won't.
When I printed my logbook for the interview I added a blank page. A few flights between interview and class was hand written. They didn't have a problem.
I'd have taken it, thrown it across the room, sat back down again, all just to get into your head.
"Seeeeeew… Shall we begin?"
You want me to just pick one huh?Wouldn't have worked on me, I would have just sat back quietly, and calmly. Then asked, so what personality disorder do you have from the Cluster B spectrum?
Do you have your ATP with a CL-65 type rating already? They may or may not look at them in training, but if you don't, they will definitely need them when you take your checkride. All they need to do is make sure you meet the minimum requirements to be issued an ATP and to fly for a 121. If your interview was less than 3 mo ago, I wouldn't even both printing out new stuff (unless you gained, like, a LOT of flight time). Just bring what you have. If you're worried about it, why not just print out the flights since then and stick them in as an addendum? Even just a small booklet will be fine.Quick question,

Kids these days.I have no idea, but say you're ehh, mid-40's and you want to peruse someone's logbook.
Then that person hands you his laptop because he didn't want to spend $30 to print it…
If you wouldn't do it during your interview, do not do it as a probationary pilot. #protip
For my ATP/EM2 type ride, they shrugged at the book and said "well, if S.G. said you had the time, you have the time."The only thing I didn't like about commuting to DTW was the terminal transfer from the Delta one to the north terminal. It's a long walk and a long circuitous van ride. What a screwy way to design the airport road system. Plan on 30-45 minutes for that one.
As far as logbooks. My examiner didn't even look at mine. But I'd bring it if asked, but I'm willing to bet they won't look at it until later in sim training.
