They also dumped almost every station they did ground handling at, almost at once, with minimal notice in most cases. That was around the time I left, but afterwards, Skywest lowered the pay of the SFO employees below airport minimum wage(despite employees complaining it was illegal), and then got in trouble with the city of San Francisco for it, because that is illegal. Which they knew but did anyway. "But we have to give part time employees health care and we can't afford it!".

But of course, they'd never screw the pilots. Ever. They promise.

I hate how they gave away the west coast ground handling contracts. Closing those stations was a sad day in our history; CLD especially.
 
I’m happy for the outcome. I’m worried there’s no plan (on the pilot/SAPA side) going forward to use the result to our advantage.
 
The company probably used this crappy offer to make us appreciate the last crappy contract seem better.

Excellent job guys and gals!! Hopefully this will mean real gains in the next TA they propose.I wonder what kind of heat Sapa will get from management for the staggering no vote? :D

I think I remember 6 reps voted no to pass it onto the group in the first place. I had heard from some recruiters that the company knew it wouldn't pass within a week of it being published to the pilots. Based on the internet forum feedback, emails, and calls they received from pilots. There was a few last ditch efforts to email us daily during the first week with propaganda, but that quickly ended. No wonder why, it must have started out overwhelmingly no and they knew there was no way to shift the tides.

To be completely honest, the night this was sent out it really felt like a slap in the face to me. With the growth and success we've had as a company over the last year, and what changed in the industry from last summer to this summer, that proposal was not even close. We need real representation.
