Shocking news, Dan Gryder is a POS

Typical cop work. The last 3 murders in my town didn’t even make it to trial because the police bungled their part of the cases so badly the judges threw them out.

That sounds familiar.

Edit: I was incorrect about the double murder, that made it to trial but the case was so flimsy the jury dismissed it pretty quickly. In that case shaky police work was still central to the failure of the prosecution.

Starting Salary:
$15.54/hr - non-certified officers
$21.75/hr-$23.92/hr based on training and experience - Georgia POST certified officers
Officers will receive starting salary of $21.75 upon graduation from Georgia POST Certified Police Academies.

How many hours per year do smaller-town police work? At 2,000 hours that’s $43,500. A quick Googling tells me there is not a significant ramp-up after(?), so it’s what the elected representatives/city manager are willing to pay for.

Oh we have the same problem. Nobody wants to pay taxes, but we can’t pay officers, EMS, teachers, bus drivers, etc enough to attract and retain them.
