What would be the point of this merger?
All the pax JAL dropped. That's a lot of folks.
Or in 25 years will we have anti-trust suits?Would this merger be approved by the DOJ or whoever it is since they had a problem with AA/US?

How about AA, United and Delta merge and we just get it all over with.
Delta would buy HAI for slots and airframes, the "Hawaiianess" factor doesn't enter at all. As for career expectations, the junior Deltoids can now expect to fly a 747/777. Hawaiianoids can expect to fly a A330. The A350/787 is a wash.I've heard this one floating around for a long time now. The thing is, the minute you make Hawaiian not "Hawaiian" you lose almost every advantage that Hawaiian has. That said, using the "career expectations" model, a whole lot of junior Delta fos would get hosed.
It seems that @BobDDuck, @sorrygottarunway and I will be coworkers in 2014 and it won't involve either of us applying for a job.
We're buying Delta and Hawaiian with all the Fun Bux™ we amass here. Herd it here first.I was hoping it'd be us.
Womp, womp, womp....
Yup. To hell with that.
Mergers are the absolute worst. Even when they "work out", the company drops a cultural war right in your lap.
Do not want.
Haneda slots, methinks.
Maybe 2 if they acquire the one AA recently gave up.All 1 of them?
