"Schoolhouse" Rumor

The fanboys have been talking about this for ages, I'll believe it when I see it. Talk about airline cultures, Hawaiian is practically a foreign carrier compared to the legacies.
I feel the same way. Super tough to take over something with such a great brand recognition/loyalty and make it insert big 3 airline name here.

I have heard the same rumot here. I talk to the Hawaiian maintenance guys on a daily basis. We provide a lot of their parts and we perform all required maintenance except heavy checks on their A330s. We also do all the engine and landing gear changes on their 767's as well as major mods. They have heard the same and we've all heard them before, but this one might have some traction! With their international expansion in the Pacific, it fits into Southernjets strategy for the Asian/Pacific market.

Really? Pretty sure we kept hearing of NWA/DAL, UAL/CAL, and ATN/SWA for years before they were announced.

Yes, really.

It was suppose to be ATN/Midwest and then ATN/Alaska.

Then Delta and then after that Northwest was supposed to merge with Continental. Then Delta and Airways. But before that United and Usairways. Sooooooo.......I made my point here.

Bottom line, why is @Derg spreading rumors from the school house?

ATN/Midwest did come to fruition, it wasn't just a rumor. It fell apart in the end, but it was an actual attempted merger. ATN/Alaska was never really rumored. It was just something that I fantasized about. :)

Bull. There was never serious discussion of either. You and I both know that Delta/Northwest was the speculated merger for years before it was officially announced. Just admit that you were wrong. And then get back to vacuuming or dusting or whatever the hell weird cleaning fetish you have. :)
