Russian Tu-154 hydraulic failure out of control(video)

Came across this tonight, haven't seen it posted here nor anywhere for that matter. Happened back in 2011 and had a happy ending.Russian military Tu-154 lost hydraulics and had to be flown using just the throttles shortly after takeoff. The plane disappears behind trees before its safe landing, one can only imagine what the round-out looked like. Very impressive flying is an understatement.

A fake. There is no way they are that out of control in the air, then the airplane lands perfectly fine. I think there is a reason the landing is obscured.

Yeah, and if its a rudder issue, wouldn't it have manifested itself on the takeoff roll? And by manifested, I mean they should have ended up in the weeds.

Ah, I see where you're coming from. I didn't watch the whole video. But I will say that the old lears I flew had some serious Dutch roll issues, if the yaw damp wasn't working. Not that that really has anything to do with this vid.

the result of investigation was that some component of the control system was improperly connected to the power bus, but its all in russian...
