Pubnat 5/6

grats utamav!! I'll drink a lot in your honor tonight... not that i really need an excuse... but i'll do it any way.

Got my medical clearance today. Still waiting on those damn MMPI results though. Seriously, how long can it take to review an electronically submitted True/False test?

It's more costly for the FAA to send you back through your screenings (including re-taking the MMPI), so they try to move people through quicker if their clearance is expiring instead of those with TOL preference. That's how I got bumped from number 2 in line to number 1.

What if you're not crazy the first time, but after waiting a year you are??:crazy::crazy:

I'm getting sick just watching these results flow in while I just sit idly by, waiting for my date. Even with a mandatory retiree coming up in February, there is nothing on the horizon for my facility.

does anyone else besides me hate the weekends because you know no one is going to call and give you a class date?? at least during the week there is the glimmer of hope..

i look forward to mondays which make me look forward to the end of the week, since it seems most people get dates toward the end of the week. which ultimatly leads to a friday....its a vicious circle

I don't know about being a fan, but I do work at his company.

haha get outta here. I don't know why but I freaking idolize Scaled Composites and Mr. Rutan for some reason. Maybe it's the whole "pioneering composite designs" part.. or maybe I'm just jealous.

You're the second person this week i've met who works/has worked for him.

Turns out my neighbor who I'm getting to know better these days used to work/fly for him. You ever heard of Larry Lombard of Feather Lite Inc.?

Never heard of the guy. He probably worked for Rutan back in the olden days. We do some interesting stuff, but after while it becomes the norm. Personally I think some of the stuff we build is dangerous, but what do I know, I'm just a lowly mechanic.

isn't it your job to sit there and say "wtf? this isn't gonna fly dude"

same thing with engineers and statisticians/mathematicians.

this is weird.. so I met that Larry guy last week, and yesterday I met a guy from the neighborhood I grew up in in my wine tasting room - HE's in composites as well and does outsource work for you guys too..

strange how I keep finding connections.
