PUBAK

I got my authorization to take the test on Sept. 30, but nothing since then...I hope they announce the test dates soon though

same here with PubHi.. seems like they're going through comparatively slow.. w00t.

you got your greenbook? study study study!

i've been studying a lot...if i'm going out to Alaska to take the AT-SAT failure is not an option, and to me failure is anything under 90%

Anybody else count the email addresses? I came up with 770ish-for AK. I didn't realize their were that many people between the ages of 18-30 that live/want to live in AK. I wonder how many applicants are going to squeak by the requirement to take the AT-SAT in ANC, because they already took it.

Well I actually put down Alaska as one of my Geo Prefs. Figured it would enhance my chances of moving on. Plus, hey, Alaska. Didn't get it, though. Got IL instead. Just as well. Guess they're not that desperate up there after all (some people were assigned AK without putting it down as a Geo Pref, perhaps giving the impression of desperation... a separate announcement just for AK also gives this impression). Also applied to the PUBAK announcement.

Just got the test dates for PUBAK

Nov. 3 - Nov. 6 (Monday-Thursday)

I have to call tomorrow morning and confirm for the Thursday test date...so excited:)

Alaska gets pretty dang cold during the winter, even in Anchorage. During the summer though it is in my opinion definately one of the most beautiful and gorgeous places on earth. Its so incredibly majestic and gorgeous especially if you like the outdoors. I put it as one of my top picks but am headed to Utah which is also great (understand mountains):). Anyways, I think you guys that get sent there will enjoy it.

Hey all, I am a PUBAK guy and took my test at the beginning of the month. As you can by my signature yes I did pass. Any luck with the rest of you guys? Well looking forward to the interview. I am really interested in all the other PUBAK people and how they are coming along. Are we the first PUBAK group or have there been others. Kinda want to know what to expect next. I am sure some of you are UAA'ers.:D

congrats on your test score

i also took that at-sat for Alaska, unfortunately, i didn't score nearly as well...only an 82.4:(, oh well, we'll see what happens in the upcoming future, I wouldn't mind working up there though, Alaska is quite beautiful.

I wonder if anybody from Pubnat 4 will be selected for Alaska with this Alaska specific announcement right after it?

Anybody know the hiring situation for any of the Anchorage facilities?

Both Anchorage TRACON and Tower are in need. Not sure about Center. I got my eye on a Tower position. I was up there once and the view was awesome.

I don't think so. But they might.

Anchorage is beginning to get unfriendly to smokers. You can't smoke in bars anymore (with the last year or two) and I think most of the hospitals don't even allow it on their property. There are also municipal ordinances prohibiting it within a certain distance of entrances to buildings/businesses.

To answer the first question..I called the number located on asap today and the nice lady who answered the phone told me that everyone will be looked at for the January panels...Pubnat 3 and 4 as well as pubhi and pubak.

zz :)
