Positive trends

Some FOs making $100k/month and some Captains around $200k

Wait, what? How?

There is, for the most part, an unlimited amount of work out there. A good contract and a motivated work group. The amount of freight backlogged is staggering.

Another thing I believe fits into the positive trends thread - The CJO pool at FedEx is getting mighty thin. The other side of the coin is that the last few quarters have been a little bit on the sad side for FedEx in the financial department, but hopefully this event is getting them what they need to shore up the long term. Also, 30x10^23 apps on file, but the answer will always be no until you try...oh yeah, and all the new hires will fly WOCL hub turns on the 757 for the rest of life, which is only about 9.2 years after IOE complete. There are all kinds of studies on it.

Did I cover all the Debbie Downer bullets well enough to not seem too optimistic?

A majority of new hires are not going to the 757.

I'd be fine either way. App has been in, competitive, and up to date for a year. Attended the last Federal Express Express Expo, and there a lot of people hired in 2019 that "look like me." I'm optimistic, but not so much so that I'm not enthusiastically trying to be hired at other places, too.

Loads are kind of “pilot math” to judge the recovery. I’ve been flying fairly full flights but the number of flights cancelled or itineraries changed to create that seemingly full flight is hard to ascertain. Best bet is to do your job, prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

UPS/FDX payloads are exceeding peak numbers which is truly unprecedented during this time of year which is usually the slowest. Some FOs making $100k/month and some Captains around $200k

Daaaamn.....taxes gonna be crazy next year. Good for them, that's awesome!

Damn bruh. Why you got to be all up in my positive news.

UPS has a credit cap that limits Capts pay to about 37K/mo. Some things don't count but and there are ways to beat the system for a couple months here and there. Like sell your vacation back and work the whole month or volunteer to be on the "fly to China" list (this could give you and extra 100 to 50%) In a strange twist, the company was ignoring the credit cap back about a year ago on a certain fleet and domicile, and the union told them to follow the contract.

I have no idea how things work at Purple.

Ah yes. The elusive 550 credit hour month.

Had a friend recently snag about 220hrs last month. Would be interested to see how a captain gets to $200k

I did 170 hours in April with 20 days off at AA. I thought i crushed it. Apparently i have work to do lol
