People...

A li'l less LCC and a little more Singapore Airlines you're saying? :)

How about a little bit of capitlalism. You know, the best priced/valued product wins. No more government funding (bankruptcy rules) for airlines that will not charge enough for ticket prices to cover costs......

or is that just a pipe dream and I should stop drinking the bong water?

What is happening is actually pure capitalism. What you must mean is "free enterprise."

I'm just curious. Are you suggesting some kind of system where it would be illegal to be insolvent? Since enterprises have been failing since there have been enterprises, what would you suggest in instead of bankruptcy laws? And how are the current laws "government funding?"

Well, NWA is in bankruptcy and just posted a profit, how can you be in bankruptcy and post a profit and then not be "forced" out of bankruptcy?

I will admit, I am no econ guru, but if you add 1 and 1, and come up with 5, something is wrong.

Then there's just the funny stuff people do.

I was on a Northwest flight from Tokyo to Minneapolis. This teenager sitting next to me thought it a good idea to ask for a jack and coke even though he didn't even look at all close to of age. The flight attendant asks for his ID and he says he doesn't have one. She said "this is an international flight, you better have your passport", to which he responds "nevermind, I'll just take a sprite"

So of course I did what anyone would do, I had some wine with dinner and thuroughly enjoyed it :-)
