Determining Flap Speed is like eating at fancy restaurant or hiring a really powerful lawyer. If you have to ask, you can't afford it and shouldn't be flying it.On a heavy 76, the difference between flap retraction speed and Vfe can be surprisingly narrow for Flaps 1. You definitely have to pay attention.
Sooo glad I don't have to deal with that CF anymore. BTW, love the HOBBS counter!!! Is that the second or the third roll?? LOL.Been there, done that, still have and wear the hoodies and polos.

Really is strange to think that we have pilots who have never flown an all analog airplane.

You're just jealous 'cause you never learned to properly touch yourself! ...(edit to add) - or your 1 out of 10 prom date!Is this the part where you start talking about the Brasilia and touching yourself?

BTW, did you wear your helmet to Prom?? (that's coming from a brother helmet aficionado.)

Can't win, I guess. First I'm an OLD ass. Now I'm a young ass. I guess I must just be an ass, eh?Jeebus, you’re still a child!
I think I need to be drunker for this conversation.Don't YOU fly Lears?? Trying to get elected Prom King, or what?
No, it’s an observation. Is this the part where you start talking about the Brasilia and touching yourself?
As much as I'll miss the fleet, it will be nice having glass again soon.
Yeah it's more a consolation prize, I'd stay on it all day long if it meant keeping that fat cat international lifestyle. Alas, back to the domestic life but at least it'll be a plane designed & built this century. It's funny you say that. We had 1 glass 76, and everyone was excited to get their hands on it. Fast forward a year and no one wants to touch it. It has since been retracted from our fleet and we're back to classic 76 panels. I didn't mind the glass, since my previous aircraft were all glass. Most of the fuss came from the old Boeing guys. I think if our entire fleet was glass it would be a different story.
So much this.Fly your speed bugs.
The PLI goes away when the flaps are up so all you have otherwise is the yoke shaking device. At least on the 75. I just went from round dials to glass with the upgraded 75/76 cockpits. It is kinda cool seeing the upper and lower margins on the speed tape. It funny to think all these years I didn't know how close to stick shaker I really was....
(Disclaimer: this is most definitely NOT my pic, but it is the type I fly.)I was thinking about that in flight one day at 390 in a 321 where, in Boeing terms, the upper and lower margins were tight as heck. I wondered how many times I was in a precarious airspeed situation.
