Received this email today from MSU's Aviation Office:
---------------------------------------
To All MSU Aviation Students,
In order to provide you with transfer options we have been actively seeking to build relationships with other colleges and universities. While this process is not complete, there are three schools that have been particularly helpful in this regard.
It is premature for us to suggest you apply to any of these schools just yet, as we are still in discussions and they may be willing to make some special arrangements with you to help with the transfer process. However, I would like you to know the names of these schools so that you can start doing your research in determining the best fit. We hope to have more specific information available early next week, but for now check out the following:
Everglades University, www.evergladesuniversity.edu
Thomas Edison State College, www.tesc.edu
Utah Valley University, www.uvu.edu
Each of these institutions has been very cooperative. I don’t expect there is a one size fits all solution, but now is a good time to begin checking out your options.
Remember, early next week we will have more specific info.
On a related note, we expect to have approval of a HLC approved teach-out plan by the end of the month. This info will also help you with your decisions.
--------------------------------------------
I emailed back this:
Thanks for this info. I assume that creating teach out plans is only in case the appeals process does not end favorably for MSU? Also, for the VA guys, should I not do any more flying in case the VA tries to come after the funds they already provided? Also, have any of the conversations with these 3 schools involved Post 9-11 GI Bill students? I already know that UVU does not include flight labs in the tuition, so would not be covered under the GI Bill.
and got this in response. I feel really bad for the MSU staff who had no part in how the college went in the direction in did in order to ultimately get to where it is now...
--------------
As I understand the VA funding issue, I don’t think the VA will want the money back. Jennifer Lamb is the expert in that area. You may wish to speak with her if you have specific questions.
The three schools mentioned do not participate in Yellow Ribbon. So far I do not know of a good alternative school that does.
MSU’s future does not look good, I’m sorry to say. Ironically, the transfer and teach out needs to be in place and implemented before the appeal process. Kind of gives you an idea what our appeal chances are, eh?

Bollocks.
