I was in the Air Force. Can you use a real clock?
Every clock I own is 24 hour. I think AM\PM is stupid, what's the point? Too many times I've been drunk or similar and set an alarm to the wrong one. Never again. Plus I've spent my whole life in aviation, nothing is AM\PM working ramp\cs\ramp tower\cargo ect or flying.
I remember working the ramp one day when the daily Vision Dornier SDF-ATL canceled and was replaced by... a 767-200. Props to them for not stranding the passengers, but LOL
LOL I remember you saying you guys just heaved the bags unstacked into the massive hull of the 767 at the pilot's direction. I think a better story is when Vision didn't pay their bill for ground handling and your boss said not to load their plane LMFAO. Ghetto bird ahoy.
Didn't California Pacific fail like really quick into service? And that was during peak flying, LOL.
My buddy who helped me get in with Airways magazine was the highest mileage passenger in the history of the airline. He rode on their lone ERJ-145 on it's multistop journey during the day, where he said there were never more than 10 passengers on any leg and by the last leg the plane was almost 2 hours late or something IIRC.
Another friend tried to fly them revenue to CLD from SJC. Staff checked him in like normal, gets to the gate, nothing on the screens at all. The flight is not listed on the monitors anywhere in the terminal, either. He waits an hour at the empty gate he was told to go to, finally an ANA 787 pulls in from Tokyo and off loads. No staff anywhere and the gate is filling up with ANA pax. He calls the airline, no one picks up. The flight status on their website shows "on time" though over an hour past departure. Finally he finds a freggin NEWS STORY online that the airline has suspended operations. He later found out he was the ONLY PASSENGER on that flight! I guess the staff couldn't be bothered to walk to the gate and tell him? Good riddance, a joke of an operation. After all that hype...
I forget how long they lasted, maybe 1.5 months? A little less? Again, after all that hype. They started flying into SJC in the morning from CLD when I was on graves in the ramp tower, and I figured I'd just wait until I went mornings in about 1 month and shoot them then. They were out of business before I ever even saw them there. LOL!
Here is my friend's article about California Pacific, one leg had just 2 pax, plus him on a comped ticket!
