Dear Applicant,

You are receiving this email in reference to the Air Traffic Control Specialist (Trainee) Announcement: AAC-AMH-08-PUBAK-10382 you applied for. This announcement was a special general public announcement only for the state of Alaska.

As stated in the announcement, applicants interested in this special announcement MUST travel at your own expense to Alaska to take the AT-SAT test.

If Alaska is your choice for future home/work life, this is a great opportunity. If you desire to be an ATCS in another U.S. location then it would be in your best interest to apply under a Public National (PUBNAT#) Announcement. With this type of announcement you have the option to choose your Geographic Preference within the U.S. The link below will take you into our latest open public announcement which closes Friday, August 29, 2008:

If you are NOT interested in relocating to Alaska at your expense, then please respond to this message. Your response will be considered a declination to Announcement: AAC-AMH-08-PUBAK-10382, and kept on file. This will speed up the hiring process and give us a better outlook on applicants truly interested in re-locating to Alaska.

Your future in Aviation Careers is important to us, and we want the hiring process to be a smooth, timely transition into your new career.

Please respond ONLY if you choose to DECLINE Air Traffic Control Specialist (Trainee) Announcement: AAC-AMH-08-PUBAK-10382 for the state of Alaska. Please include your full name on your declination response.

If you have any questions please contact the Aviation Careers Division at 405-954-4657 or just reply to this e-mail.

If they wanted to eliminate the number of bogus applications for this announcement, wouldn't you rather have an "opt-in" for continued consideration? instead of an "opt-out" ?

Just got mine. I am really pissed off! For over 2 weeks I have been trying to get a Geo Pref for announcment 2, to no avail. I get this email, and think, finally it is here...but it is this JUNK! All of the info in the email had already been stated, nothing new.

I know I was having 2nd thoughts about this whole thing, but I decided to go for it. I started it, and this was going to be something I had to see to the end.

The most annoying part of this whole thing is, I applied to announcements 2,4,5,6, and Alaska. The way I was looking at it is, if I did not get to OKC with 2 or 4, I would go to Alaska. Now it seems as if they are expediting Alaska. I can kiss announcement 2 good-bye, they have pushed up Alaska . . . I fell backed into a corner. If I don't take it, it might be middle of next year before I get to OKC.

Makes perfect sense to me to have an "opt-in." Unfortunately, that's much too logical.

I have yahoo, but my spam is empty 90% of the time. This is a new email account I set up just for this, so it is pretty clean (no junk/spam).

woohoo! at least i know that i'm in the "plausable" pile for employment. So.. cheers everyone! See you in Alaska when we get the Auth. emails. I might have to drop out for the semester. lol.

does anyone else see a conflict of interest at the bottom of the email? Maybe they're trying to knock a few of those names off the registry.. the Cc: list was REALLLLLY long.

AND they want you to travel TO alaska to take the ATSAT!!!

That is somewhat surprising, but another way to trim the pack I suppose....

There was a CC list!? That's a major FAA screwup there... they should have used an automated email program so you don't get that

It's quite easy to fake a 'from' email address. Get someone with any brains and they'll take out 90% of the applicants.

at first I was going to say i think the aps are processed at OKC but after a second gander the "from" address, which I have a couple of other emails from, is xxxx@faa.gov

interesting.. maybe we should shoot them an email and let them know they're disclosing personal info

hehe, but you can bet I won't be the one responding to the email.. i'd love to help but i'm not going to take my chances at responding when they're asking for declination emails only to the address.. lol

I guess it wont be that hard for me sense I work for the airline that's named after the state.... now do I really want to move up there?.... That's the question. I was hoping to use this as sort of a back up but oh well, north we go.

I know the feeling!

I feel like I am being pimped out by the FAA. What can I say... bring them on! I mean , bring it on! No, no, no bring Alaska on! (If you understand that, you're as SICK as I am :laff:)

The list of email adresses was so dang long....

If thats all that applied to Alaska...I would hate to see the Pubnat...email list..

I wonder how much money I can get to sell those adresses to a spammer... Maybe I can spam them so much that they never see any new FAA emails.....:nana2::rolleyes:

I kid!
