Multi flight school???

Not to mention, that if a Part 61 school ISN'T on the Sallie Mae list, talk to the school manager/owner and see if he would be willing to submit the paperwork to get on the list. Should take all of a week for SLM to review their paperwork, then if approved, another week (well....) to get you pre-approved for the loan.

Never hurts to ask...
 
I'm also considering going to accelerated but have no idea how to pay for it. like was stated in earlier posts, loans aren't going to work. i have a charge card but as a graduating college kid, i sure don't have a 20k credit line on it. more like 1k. it kind of seems weird that you do all your training in a twin. especially earning a private license! a twin engine airplane is a little too fast to start out in i would think.
 
Loans are made for the part 61 schools however, you most likely will need a co-signer. Be sure to check out the REFUND policy because if you find the school isn't worth it then decide to leave for better training, I mean things you could be making payments on a loan while the school is collecting interest that should be refunded..

Where did you get the loan from? I think my parents will be willing to help me out by cosining. Can you just go to a bank to take out the loan or what?
 
Jetdream, did you work every day of the month to get the 100 hours logged? FAR 61.195(a) Hours of training. In any 24-consecutive-hour period, a flight instructor may not conduct more than 8 hours of flight training.
You must have worked 16 hour days to get to this 100 hours of logged training time in one month. Hats off to ya if you did. What was your schedule like and how many students did you have?

It sounds like they don't pay much yet you get all of those multi hours. Is the pay low enough that you would have to get a second job at night somewhere?

This sounds like a great school. I'm a sophmore in college right now, getting my BA in communications. I dont want to do anything with this degree, I just want to fly, I have had this dream ever since I was a little boy. I'm really considering this school!! A few questions though.......do I need to get my private before hand or take the written tests? I dont have any flight experience

How much does it cost from ground zero to the end of the program? I know it says 18900, but are there any hidden costs?

Do I get paid when I become a CFI??

How are my chances after this 12 month training to get hired by a regional and do regional airlines view this school as a credited flight school?

Their web page said the total price from private to cfi is about $18800 and you end up with 170 hours in a Piper Geronimo and 50 hours in a simulator. 170 hours at $110/hr for the Geronimo comes to $18700. So is the remaining $100 for the 50 hrs of simulator time? No, the page says that 50 hrs in the simulator comes to $950. So where do they get $18800 from???? You'd think they'd try to make their estimated cost be the bare minimum. But it looks like the estimated cost is below the minimum. I'd rather see them post an honest estimate that doesn't look as good than an estimate that sounds really good but they had to stretch the truth to get it. Also, their website says they have 14 multi engine airplanes and by the end of 2001 they will have 20. Call them up and ask how many they actually have. It seems like it was a bit fewer.
Perhaps they just need to get someone to update their web page or fix the mistakes in it.
 
Well.....my next question is after I get all of these ratings, I begin to fly as a CFI. How much will I get paid as a CFI? Also is there any student housing around that area? Thanks for your time
 
Is this accelerated flight school (Chandler, Az) for real? Sounds to good to be true. I am currently enrolled at Pan Am (Phoenix, AZ), but am still looking around. This is a big investment, and I do not want any regrets. Currently, I am still deciding between Pan Am and Flight Safety. I like both programs, and there are at premium prices. However, I am willing to pay if the training, facilities, fleet, instructors, etc. are all 1st class. Although I did look at ATP, which seems to be similar to Accelerated Flight School. I did not like ATP b/c I heard stories of students getting alot of pink slips on checkrides, b/c it was too much, too soon. Also, I heard that regionals do not like to hire from ATP b/c of the "crash course" style of training. I want the best training possible at the best pace possible. But if it is a crash course learning process, I do not think it is as worthy. I am asking if it is, not assuming! The multi-engine hours sound great, how many are actual PIC time? And what do the CFI's really make? What are the chances of becoming a CFI with ACcelerated? I would like as much feedback as possible. Hopefully, this includes the good, the bad, and the ugly! I would like to hear more testimonials, other than the two on the website. How do I know that those are his brother and sister? Just kidding, but is this as good as it sounds?
 
I am living proof the school is for real.
I completed my ME, Instrument and now finishing my commercial with Accelerated.
All my instructors had positive attitudes and I likewise have had a positive experience with this school. They are very knowledgeable with vmc, standards, procedures and content of each rating. You are taught Airline procedures from day one. I highly recommend Accelerated flight training. Good luck in what route you take.

I take it you are going part time. I am going to try to do the same.
Can you give me an idea of how many instructors they have, and how busy are they (ie do they ever mention whether they are only getting x hours per month, etc... or are they part time)?

I went to a guy x TWA capt. in a PA-23 in West Palm Beach .,FL area give me a email if you wnat is info he is in an old PA-23, No HSI good old basics with instructor $129.00 Hour.

Hi there...sorry been off for a while. Accelerated Flight is not too good to be true...it is true. The website is an estimate price....nothing in stone. And no...no hidden costs. They try to give you the best training for the lowest cost to you. You can teach for them after you are done as long as you have a positive attitude...they do not want any dud instructors!! They teach airline style...which is an easy transition to the airlines. Yes, I flew 100 hours a month and did not break any regs, if that is what you are asking. Some people work part time jobs...so they go around your schedule. As stated before, I can't say anything bad. The best way is for you to talk to them yourself at (480)785-2032. IF the long distance is a problem, they will call you back. As a CFI...just think of all the twin time you have compared to others that are going for the same jobs....you will stand out.

Oh yeah...and the person who wrote about doing the PVT in the twin. I did it....they train you well...so going "fast" didn't scare me at all.

Hello... yep...the school is real and is very good. $110 for twin time is fantastic, and it includes the instructor. Call at (480)785-2032. To the guy concerned about getting a private in a twin...I did....it was great training, and no wasted money on my part on single time. Although the regs require some time in a SE, I have all my ratings in the twin...makes me stand out at the airlines too!!
 
What do I need to do before I enter flight accelerated? Do I need to pass both my private and instrument written exams? I'm confused on what I need to?? Because I'm going to be going from 0 hours.
