Moxy and 60 A220s

This is so comical. Customer service focused? Delta treats me like a valued customer. Southwest treated me like cattle. No, I’m not interested in standing in your cattle stalls so I get the privilege of fighting for a seat after paying the same price as Delta charges for a dignified experience, Gary.

I never fight for seats as I'm A-List and have never had a problem checking in early or paying for the business select now and then. With the refunds and no change fees it makes travel so much easier. I'm having too much fun wherever I am? Then within a few minutes in the app or website I've changed to another flight a day or two later and I do it without getting nickel and dimed. If I need to cancel a flight it's no big deal and I either get a refund or have to use that credit within a year.

“Business select.” That’s just precious.

It's great when my company or I book on short notice and it's still often cheaper than buying an economy fare with another airline and pay for the baggage. I get a drink or two and always get my choice of seat. It's nothing amazing, but for the extra 20 or 30 over their middle tier fare it's good value.

Sure, kid.

You're the guy whining about Southwest several years later like a jilted and jealous lover. Let it go and move on with your life. I'm not sure it ever occurred to you that there's more out there than trying to be mean online. Surely if you were happy in life it might reflect in the way you treat others.

I know you’re getting your feelings hurt because somebody disagreed with you about the airline you fetishize, but I’m sure you’ll get over it, son.

You're a pilot and this seems to be all you have in life. You can still turn it around, go out, adventure, fall in love and so much more.

This page of the thread got me like:

Yes, surely I must turn it all around! Life is so miserable! Whatever will I do?!

Kid, leaving Southwest was the best thing that ever happened to me. I hate Gary for what he did to the pilots I represented, and I’ll never forgive him for that, but he did me personally a big favor. Life couldn’t be much better.

Pardon me for pointing out the obvious, but if you think that the bolded adds credibility to your rants, you are mistaken.
Age by itself does not earn respect.

We both you know you’d be paying a multiple of that fare on DAL if it wasn’t for Southwest being in the market. Say what you want about the management team, but SWA does a good job keeping the legacies honest on pricing.

I guess when the trailer park crowd gets to go out to Denny’s instead of McDonald’s they think it’s something special.

C’mon man - you’re better than this.

As for Moxy itself, we’ll see. No reason to doubt Neeleman given his track record, but I don’t know if the industry has enough room for another “mixed wallet” carrier. To be succesful in that space (SWA, ALK), you need to have near-perfect execution, or else you will print margins that lag both the legacies and the ULCC’s (see: VA, SY, JBLU). In an industry that I believe is commoditizing quicker by the day, I think this segment of the market will be further consolidated.

I actually think they have no role in this whatsoever today. That role is served by Spirirt, Frontier, Allegiant, etc. Southwest is a high cost carrier at this point. One reason for the purchase of AirTran was because they couldn’t compete with us on cost.

Sorry, but if you think “business select” on Southwest is something special, you need to get out more.

Did Todd suddenly enter his mid thirties and decide that he's now an old man?

All this "kid" and "son" stuff is hilarious.

I suspect he’s in his late teens. Even Gulley is a seasoned veteran by comparison.

It's the slacks.

Trousers!
