Memphis PEPC

A couple co-workers of mine who just attended the LA PEPC got tentative class dates of Aug 17th, however they both live here in OKC and will probably be able to start sooner if slots open up before then. Here are the projected course dates through the end of this fiscal year. I'd say expect a start date approximately 2 months after your PEPC.

Thanks for the links. So it looks like those of us who have to go through Enroute Basics will probably start in the new fiscal year, because the last Basics class is in August. Does the new fiscal year begin in October?

Has anyone gotten a confirmation with a firm date and location yet? I need to make my plane/hotel reservations.

So I JUST got my selection in the mail, dated 6 days ago. I guess they didn't have my email on file, but then somebody else from the FAA got in contact with me via email (who knows?) But I finally got selected and am attending Memphis. No confirmation email from me yet either, but I'm very behing the game thanks to the post office

I saw the August 19th Air Traffic Basics course which should transist into the September 23rd or 24th Initial En route class. Maybe they can put us into that one.

Anyone traveling from the east (SC, GA, NC, east TN) that is attending the Memphis PEPC on Thursday, July 24 that might be up for splitting travel costs on the road/hotel?

I could fly, but that means I have to fly into ATL and we all know how worn out the controllers are there. haha

Totally just kidding! I love driving "the open road" in my Wrangler and besides it will be $150 cheaper.

PM me if interested.

Still no firm confirmation yet. I did receive an email from Brenda Rogers w/ the forms that need to be filled out. I tried calling to get a confirmation but wasn't successful. I did get a hold of one lady who told me there was nothing she could do & I would have to try some else:banghead:! Frustrating!

I haven't received anything. That seems a bit odd that they would only send the forms without explanation or confirmation.

I have messaged several people who have already been through the process. The consensus seems to be that we will receive our confirmation email one to two weeks prior to the date we picked for MEMPHIS PEPC.

How is anyone supposed to arrange travel that way? (especially at an affordable price) :banghead:

Yeah i know what you mean. Fortunately I am using AA Advantege miles, which means there is no penalty for changing flight info.

FYI.....Hotels near the airport are crappy and loud. Crime in Memphis is terrible.

Anyone going to PEPC on June 22, I am leaving the 21st and coming back the 23rd...thinking about staying at the Westin in downtown if its within reasonable driving distance to PEPC location.....its a little pricey...

I've stayed at the Holiday Select near the Airport on numerous occasions. It's not a really bad place at all. However, depending on which side of the building you're on you will either have a peaceful night's rest or you will hear FedEx aircraft all hours of the night roaring past your window. I am assuming they will hold the PEPC near the airport, but I certainly don't want a long commute in the morning from my hotel so I may wait until we have a location before I make a reservation.

Many of the reviews i read on hotel.com complained about FedEx planes roaring overhead around 3 am. :banghead:

I received an e-mail from HR on Saturday that asked me to fill out 3 forms and fax back. They were contact info and family/working for FAA etc.

In the e-mail it told me "You have been identified for an interview for a terminal air traffic controller position. A representative from the Air Traffic Organization will be contacting you to schedule an interview."

This e-mail from HR is the first one I have received since replying back with which date I wanted to attend the PEPC on.
