Yes. And Richard Quest says it's unusual for a plane to be shot down. These Experts are all over it!Fox News has ruled out weather as a factor
CNN actually just said that weather could have been a factor. Thunderstorms to the south may have forced their route to the north.Fox News has ruled out weather as a factor
Hopefully whatever happens we don't end up sacrificing more American lives over some third world cackhole. How do we deal with Russia now?
looking through several previous days flights most either went through the center or the southern part of the Sea of Azov and today they were well north of it more towards the Russian/Ukraine eastern border. One flight a few days ago actually went much further to the south.
Let's wait and see what the cause of this disaster was. There may have been a security breach at AMS and this could have also been a bomb. All I'm saying is that it is best not to jump to conclusions about a missle attack since the media is basing this theory on a Facebook posting from an advisor to a Ukrainian official.
“An advisor to the Ukrainian interior minister, Anton Gerashenko, said the plane was "hit by a missile fired from a Buk launcher", in a post on his Facebook page, according to the Associated Press.”
Do we have any Russian or Ukranian speakers here to translate? Not having much luck copying that onto Google translate. If this is true, I feel like it's all that needs to be said. https://twitter.com/StateOfUkraine/status/489802664264212480/photo/1
Latest rumor from RT- Putin's plane may have been on similar flight path and altitude, just 40 min later. Did a WX diversion doom the flight?

Russian-backed separatist leader Igor Girkin (who also goes by the name of Strelkov) has claimed credit for shooting down Malaysia Airlines MH17.
The plane went down over eastern Ukraine near the border of Russia. It took off from Amsterdam and was headed to Kuala Lumpur.
“The plane has just been taken down somewhere around Torez (Donetsk Oblast). It lays there behind the Progress mine. We did warn you – do not fly in ‘our sky,’” he said, reported the Kyiv Post.
“And here is the video proving another ‘bird’ falling down. The bird went down behind the slagheap, not in the residential district. So no peaceful people injured. There is also information about another plane shot.”
Stelkov and his group, the Donetsk People’s Army, apparently mistook the plane for a Ukrainian army plane.
