Malaysia Airlines 777 missing

So this is a theory way out there, but I wonder what the possibilities of a repeat of FedEx 705 are? The FO could have been under review for what went on during a previous flight.

Probably way out there, but still a theory in the mix.
Possible. But if the FO was under review wouldn't that have come out by now?

By the way...I was reading earlier that the captains home was searched but not the FOs? Has anyone else read this? That's odd.

thank you, we are suppose to be sensible people and cannot be running behind some half backed idea.

why would I be trolling you, who is trolling you are the idiots with all these stupid theories

Ahh, so I'm an idiot now for posting a theory on a message board? Last time I checked, this was an open discussion.

Rather than responding to my post, you could have just ignored it. Instead you decided to troll my comment and then call everybody that has posted a different theory an idiot.

Way to go champ.

From a friend who is a B777 legacy airline captain: "You can turn the switch to standby, pull the circuit breaker, or lose AC power. All would stop transponder operation."
Confirmed per B777 manuals. I think we can put this "debate" to bed now.

Please refrain from calling knowledgeable professionals "idiots". There are other ways of getting your point across.
Knowledge professionals? how many theories have been passed off as facts since this incident, I will have to agree with @MikeD when he stated that people should wait instead of jumping to conclusion.
Now that is posture I have adopted, I am sick and tired of these so-called professional casting aspersions on persons without a basis, a captain with years of service and 18000+ plus hour is now the target because these so-called professional really has no clue.

That's right, it's @Derg s living room. And it's not up to you how it runs. There's a lot of people here holding high positions (in the real world) that don't try to define how this place runs, but simply contribute and become occasionally frustrated.

Which my point CNN has been running with every half baked theory with person who are suppose to be professionals in aviation yet some os the garbage that come out of people's mouth is mind blowing.
Oh yes a B777 can turn off his transponder in flight, ask one to do it yesterday to see what would happen and what we expected to see happened

What are you even trying to say? Turning a transponder off is as easy as pushing the "off" button... Why are you posting here?!

New theory state that the flight might have been carrying diamond valued at close to $10B and as such might have been high-jacked for said cargo,
stay tuned for updates

$10 Billion? Really? According to the Rio Tinto Group, in 2002 the diamonds produced and released to the market were valued at US$9 billion.
So you estimate that one plane is carrying approximately one year's worth of diamond production? Even if that dubious theory were correct, it's doubtful the plane could lift the weight. Even if you sold the diamonds for $10BB cash denominated in $100 bills, the plane would need to be able to lift 204,000lbs.

I believe Shane Wiliams was just being a troll with that comment, don't think he was serious.

What I can't understand is how a modern airliner hasn't left a trace. There is an ELT on board which broadcasts tail #, and GPS position, with an underwater locator beacon, an FDR w/ a ULB, a CVR w/the same, probably a satellite comm., probably also a satellite wi-fi, an HF comm., ACARS, a satellite relay to maint., not to mention primary radar if the secondary is turned off. Also, no passengers had a satellite phone connection? Something seems fishy, like we aren't getting the full story. Even if the crew wanted to they probably couldn't think of disabling everything, and if they did crash they'd have no control of the ELT,FDR, or CVR.
