Another theory, based on satellite image of a contrail southwest of Australia: http://www.weathergraphics.com/malaysia/contrail.shtml
Kind of weak but better than other things we are seeing.

Les Abend is on the case though.
If anybody examines my computer they would find a bunch of 80's music and 90's porn. If they could recover any flight data from my ancient versions of MS Flight Sim they would be curious why I'm trying to land wide-bodies on aircraft carriers and using major cities as slalom courses.Oh Noz! The CNN just reported that the Capt. had "Deleted Files" on his home flight simulator! Those file may lead to clues of a practice runs done by the Capt! Because a man with over 18,000 hours and a career in transport aircraft needs to practice on their home flight simulator.... Good thing Malaysian forensics are on it...

Why are you paying attention to CNN? Did you expect them to do something different?

On a side note, does anybody remember the version of MS FS that allowed you to design your own planes? I loved to design planes that were almost impossible to fly.
Probably.I think i am going to be in trouble one day.
I've been apart of a group of people building full scale 737 simulators, we have a Level D Fokker 100 simulator, we have rebuilt fighter jets into sims as well.
Should i be worried that FBI and Homeland security will be knocking on my door?![]()

He has pedal extensions... No joke.Don't worry about ol Emmanuel. He's come into my current flight school a few times, but we've never been able to give him a proper lesson. Too short to reach the controls...

Or KASE after landing on RWY 33.BREAKING NEWS! Based on flight simulator records, authorities unanimously agreed the airplane must be in either St. Barts, Meigs Field or an unnamed aircraft carrier off the coast of San Diego. Mystery solved. Thanks simulator.
At this point I don't discount any theory because this has to be the weirdest aviation event I've ever seen.
Even weirder than the "Emila Airheart incident?"
CNN reporting (If thats what its called now)
Course change was set, then the pilot said "Goodnight"
If this is true, it eliminates any onboard problem occuring prior to course change.
