Life at Compass

I want DTW for now but down the road I'm hoping for MSP. The sugar momma works in distribution for a major corporation headquarted in the Twin Cities and has her eye on a corporate job.

DTW seems to be the base of choice for the east coast commuters.

MSP if you draw a line from Chicago and westward I get the impression those folks that commute prefer MSP.

FWIW, I commuted from CLT to MSP for my entire time at CPZ. Even though there were almost double the flights to DTW (12 vs. 7 per day), and the flight was nearly an hour shorter, the variety and commutability of the trips in MSP made it worth it. I think out of the 10 or so guys that commuted from CLT, only one or two went to DTW.

Just a thought for those heading to CPZ.

As for the MN thing... it gets super cold in the winter, and hot and humid in the summer. Why would you want the worst of both?

Oh guys... please start carrying on more about the Bloch award, ISL, realignments, who took who's jerbs and all that stuff. I was sound asleep in the crew room this morning and was awakened by some a holes screaming about the stupid thing. LET IT GO!!!!!!!

The rest of us here in the real world are starting to absolutely HATE you guys. I will fall absolutely silent anytime anyone at work starts talking to me about how they got screwed etc etc. Even if I'm gonna be enclosed in a cockpit with you for the next 4 days. You're dead to me.

Maybe that was a bit dramatic but holy crap I don't understand how people can fly with these guys. I seriously contemplate calling in almost every time I get stuck with one of these people. We ALL just ate a giant • sandwich from this merger and the aftermath and every time I get stuck with one of these people they attempt to convince me how THEY PERSONALLY have it so much worse than everyone else. Go away! And not to Compass because I'm hoping to escape it there.

Well tell some of your 9E brothers too keep the complaining about the airline industry to a minimum when they show to new-hire orientation on day 1! We all understand that the majority of the incoming pilots here have been screwed, and the majority of pilots here on property have been screwed like the ATA, Champion Air, Independence Air, Gemini Air Cargo, Comair guys and countless other regional furloughees. So to any incoming new hires, show up with a smile on your face, and lets all do our best to continue to make this a efficient and respected operation. We all understand this industry sucks and many have been screwed, but hopefully we will have some big movement on the horizon to compliment our hard work here.

Very well said. I would say that 90% of the people at CP have gotten it hard from a previous employer and most have gotten it a lot harder than anybody ever got it at 9E/XJ/9L.

In other news it sounds like the classes are being bumped up to 10 occasionally, 30 new hires in October, 70 people have been offered classes and interviews are currently happening in MSP. If you have ATP mins get your stuff in, the 500 multi is not a requirement, but it sounds like the 1500 is and probably will be for a while (no restricted ATP).

Man, what does it take to get an interview here? I have been applying and updating my info on Airlineapps constantly but still nothing. Even went to the job fair the other weekend and seemed to go well but still nothing. I really like MSP, I have great friends there and down south in KMKT (used to live in MKT so I'm familiar to the winters). If anyone has any advice on how to get a call I would surely appreciate it.
