Life at Compass

Yeah that's why I didnt leave my stuff in the dtw crew room...looks like I have to go to msp for trip 2 and I'm trying to skip the deadhead from dtw...
I learned that so quick on reserve. I also learned to never go on a day trip without an overnight bag. It look two times of being stranded without anything other than a flight kit to not do that again.

I always packed for 5 days at the start of a reserve stretch and didn't empty anything out until I was done.

Get assigned a CDO: Lug 5 days of stuff. Get assigned a turn: Lug 5 days of stuff.

Made hauling my bag around the airport while doing laps on those last day airport ready assignments a bit of an ordeal, but the peace of mind knowing I had clean underwear was priceless. :-)

Happy anniversary btw! We made it. ;-)

Oh, I always have 5 days worth of stuff to go in my roll aboard. I've just got all my charts and IOE folder in my flight kit in LAX. There goes one day off just trying to get back to my crap.

Indeed...I heard new hires are getting theirs when they return from home study starting next week....any word on when everyone else gets theirs?
I heard from the most recent orientation there's still nothing concrete about iPads yet.

Theyre already in. Just depends on when they will go out to everyone.
Yeah, he said that they were on property... I got the impression that they were just trying to figure out how to dole them out. It would make sense to issue them to the new hire classes as they cycle through... Geting them to the line pilots I think is the issue. My old shop shiped them Fed-Ex to a couple of thousand pilots. TSH may not want to spend the money..

I heard they won't ship them until after the next base announcement.

People are saying we now have to wait for GoJets and TSA to go through their trial periods before we get them. Any truth to this?

I would expect to hear something about iPads soon, they have said numerous times they need to be online March as that is when the subscription for Jepps is up (it will probably cost a lot to go month to month for jepp updates). I assume there needs to be a trail period when you have to carry both the iPads and regular charts. I'd guess they will just make you pick them up from base admin on your way through over a two week time frame and then either mail them or make other arrangements after that.

The union was also in the midst of negotiating an EFB LOA. I'm not sure where that stands as the last I heard of it was a few weeks back.

Partly correct sir,

We had to wait for TSA and Gojets to get their approvals from their selected FSDO's to begin there Validation period with their selected group of pilots. Both TSA and Gojets now have been approved to begin their validation period per their selected FSDO's.

As Gordon Bombay alluded too above the IPADS are in headquarters, and should be sent to the pilot group soon. The holidays have put a damper on the process, but now that the holidays are over an announcement should be out to the pilot group soon. It will be up to the Chief Pilots Office and Base Administration to get them out to the pilot group per base. The Jepp subscription runs out at the end of February, and TSH can renew it on a monthly basis but it is rather expensive. Hope this helps answer some questions.

i thought the trial period was accomplished by the guys/gals that were testing them over the past few months?
