Life at Compass

I'm planning on moving to LA in February. I've never done a huge cross country move like this (coming from Ohio). Will obviously have to have a roommate but don't know where to start. I saw that crashpad411 has some roommate listings but does anyone have any other suggestions or advice? Looking forward to the west coast!

Anyone located on the West Coast getting hired into LAX. Seems like I'm getting noticed by almost every regional except Compass. Which would be ideal because LAX is practically down the street. No commute, no relocating. Watching for job fairs but haven't seen any out this way for months.

You will love it here man, Ive known alot of people to move from Ohio and none of them went back haha..

If you are moving moving, not just crashpadding, then I would say go on craigslist and search for rooms for rent in areas around the airport. Ive had good luck going that route just be smart about it. Dont be surprised what 500 bucks/mo gets you out there versus 500 out here either hah. Ive always looked for rooms in houses too, you will have more roommates but there is no replacing having a garage/backyard/extra space and street/driveway parking. Some things to consider.

Nothing happened for me until I had a very helpful internal rec. You know anyone on the inside?

Any input on Telex 750, 850 or Uflymike Bose for the E170? Also, it has normal GA plugs right? No weird Airbus stuff

No, other than Jami who I don't even know if he's there anymore. That was last year. Oh well. Life go's on :)
You've been looking at Compass for like a year right? Anything on your resume that cause them NOT to call? They are calling guys hours after app submission...

Other than doing time for dealing crack and four DUIs, I can't imagine what's on the resume that would be a red flag.

Kidding, I haven't a clue. Maybe my age, color, IQ. Most important is no sleep will be lost.

Technically, FOs are still FOs, 3 stripes and all until the Fed Ride is complete. But, because the promotion opportunity selection is based on seniority, it has become a tradition to congratulate at the moment of award, in addition to completion of OE. At Skyway, the Line Checkairman was the first to say "Congratulations, Captain!"
The linecheck is the last thing you do to become a captain here. Fed ride is done at about 15 hours of ioe and is done before the line check.
