Must have just recently happened? Only plane I know of that has been down for damage is 625 on the DL side. It's been down almost 2 weeks.

Ive been offline the last 10 days in mini so no idea whats going on but wondering what happened they needed to send an email saying they cancelled so many flights that they want everyone to self notify.

They probably started pulling flights from people schedules, then they were flooded with calls from flight crews. Obviously they were all asking the same questions "Why was this cancelled?" "Am I pay protected?" "Are you sure I'm pay protected, it's not reflecting on Flica!"

Or crew scheduling didn't feel like making so many calls today.

"But I'm pay protected right?"
 
It's not all flights on AA, it's "many". Probably an aircraft or two's worth out of the 19-20 that are flying.

"Good Morning Compass Pilots, Due to aircraft damage on the American side we have had to take quite a few flights down for this month."

I was just wondering what damage they are referring to?
 
It appears it's 202NN. They took a pretty decent bird strike from some Angry Birds going into SLC a week or so ago that required radome replacement,RVSM downgrade among other things. It's supposed to goto BNA but that's being held off because 625 is still being worked on down there.

I just flew 202, and funny enough the altimeters are closer together than some other ships even with the giant dent in the RVSM critical area.
 
Apparently jet bridges and our planes don't mix. 2nd plane damaged by a gate agent in the last 2 weeks

Jet bridge damaged L1 door. Basically the same thing that happened to 625 in MSP a few weeks ago
