Life at Compass

I was a DOH 12/18/2014 and i believe there are still 40ish people in the system who haven't taken the upgrade.

12/14 hire here and putting my bid in for CA after i get home from my last trip this month with 960.1 SIC 121 in my logbook. Then 20 days off. Goodbye, seniority. See you never again.

@Old Dominion Flyer what do you consider a "senior" FO at Compass?
I believe an FO who is senior to 75% of the Captains they fly with would fit that description.

It's just a casual opinion. I don't intend to come across as the authority on what constitutes a senior FO. I was merely remarking that I seem to fly mainly with pilots who recently completed IOE.

I've been generally impressed with the new guys I've been paired up with, they do a great job. Only new guy I've seen struggle a bit wasn't a CFI and had plenty of previous 121 time...

Generally find you can't have one without the other...

Unless you're on the SADDE and you're cut loose for a visual to 24R.

Me: "Alright, so we're at like 8 miles and 6,000' and we just got cleared for the visual. I can ask to go out a little further, what do you think?" as I reach for the gear handle.

FO: "Flaps 1."

Me: "You sure?"

FO: "Flaps 1."

Me: "Alright."

*2 minutes later*

Me: "1,000', unstable, go around."

FO: "I don't know what went wrong!"

They don't know the 3:1 rule?

You don't have to pretend that I'm just some "anonymous" FO, jeez.
