That would be an exceptionally short 10-year contract.

Combine that with SkyWest's 175s taking over the flying at LAX, and there's just not much left but an empty skeleton where the once-majestic Compass used to exist.
 
I just don't get all the Compass, no, check that, all the flat out hate at the regional level. What is so wrong with people that they would want others to suffer for their perceived gain. Makes my stomach turn.
 
Honestly I just think some pilot groups a bit more bitter, overall, than other pilot groups. Combine that with the fact that one pilot group was historically the primary feed for AA has since become just one of several carriers doing that flying and you quickly get to the point where there is a strong mentality of "OUR planes," and "OUR flying."

I know this is a generalization, and I certainly don't mean it to apply it to ALL of a pilot group. In fact at most places I would wager the most outspoken people in a forum (be it online, the crew room, or the hotel bar) are VASTLY in the minority.
 
Because if it's posted on APC or JC it just has to be true right ? Lol

Seems more like a case of short dick syndrome...

I joined APC and JC both in 2006. That my-regional-is-better-than-yours assclownery (and the associated schadenfreude at airplanes/routes being moved between regionals) has been a cornerstone of the discussion at APC ever since the first day I laid eyes on it.

The "moderation" at the other site is VERY weak, and always has been...at least as long as I can remember. The amount of poo flinging over there is insane as a consequence.

Everything over there has to be taken with a large dose of salt. The last company i worked for is one of the traditional "bottom feeder" regionals that are always trendy to hate on. In the thread for that company I saw a lot of "information" that was just blatantly false. Flat out lies I can only assume where spread in order to maintain the trend of hating on that carrier.
 
What's the deal with monthly vacation bidding? I have none awarded because mine was wiped out when I switched seats. I bid for an open period every month, and it always kicks back as denied because "the vacation period is unavailable."

I got the same thing even thought the week I tried to swap to is still showing open.
 
Anyone want to PM me the info on how to add a parent on the Trans States travel site? I could just send out an email to the pilot group, but this works...
 
Hey guys. Anyone stayed at the new commuter hotel? I'll be staying there tonight, and never been there. I am pretty sure I saw the van once... It's the same type of big blue van, right? I assume it runs on a schedule and I don't need to call the hotel for it.

It may be a different size but yeah, same color and dont-need-to-call concept.
 
Thought we were upgrading 24 captains a month.. I see only 9 slots on the recent vacancy. Am I missing something?

12 slots...still not 24 though. None in LAX either, obviously, because when you have zero green days, raise the floor to 85 monthly, and routinely have the min. required line value well into the 90's we're definitely adequately staffed. Good thing flying always tends to slow down in the summer :rolleyes:

You can wait for the van or use the Budget car rental van. I waited last week and the Budget van stopped and asked if I was going to the 4 Points. Gave him a confused look and he said you can wait and wait for the van or hop in here and walk across the street. He was right...directly across street.

There will probably be vacancy #2 some point soon for the 2nd half of the month.
