Life at Compass

Wasn't there an email last week or so that said they upgraded all captain alternates to captains? Hence the lack of vacancies for this next open period? Seemed like they said screw it and took all the alternates as well to try and get a bit ahead of the game.

Edit: found it...

All,

Please see attached amended Vacancy Award 06_16. Due to availability we have made the Captain alternates on this award permanent. There are no other changes to the award.

Thank you,
Adam D. Timperley

There will probably be vacancy #2 some point soon for the 2nd half of the month.

Yeah and they are distinctly /not/ that good at planning,... but I think even they can usually handle 30 days out, the 24/mo memo was very recent. Considering 12 on this bid and the class dates are very distinctly the first half of the month I'll give them the benefit of the doubt about another 12 in a July #2 coming out soon.

Anyone have any thoughts as to how or why 22ish lines of flying for May in LA disappeared into the ether between yesterday and today?

So many issues this month.... And DM is no longer full time....I'm sure that's why some stuff has been messed up lately.
I know, thanks Trans States!!!! I have emailed Crew Planning and the PBS committee to no avail. Probably swamped. I understand that guys pre assignments are still either dropping out or not appearing in their schedules for bidding. What a goat rope.

Hey all I'm interviewing in MSP next week with Compass. (Anyone else? pm me!) I'm waiting to hear back from my SkyWest interview that I had yesterday. Assuming an offer from both, I'm trying to decide which. I understand Compass has about 2 year upgrade times correct? Even if hired next month? How did you guys decide CPZ vs. SkyWest or even Horizon?? The shorter upgrade time is one reason I'm leaning towards Compass. Thanks!

Depends on where you live (so what kind of a commute will you have as a newhire to the company's junior base).

In addition to the upgrade time, look at how long you're likely to be on reserve (and it is closely related to that previous point about junior base).
