Life at Compass

I head they will be reaching a new contract soon? Any details?

The Negotiating Committee said that they reached agreements on the majority of the open issues, but there were a few key open issues that will be decided by a arbitrator. They indicated that they should have a ruling in the next week or two by the arbitrator. Hopefully all turns out well, and we should have a new decent Tentative Agreement by January 2014. Hope this helps, and fingers crossed.

ahahahahahahhaahhahhahahahahahahahahahaha

Did I forget to mention HAHA

:D

How many more of your kind am I going to see on this next award?

According to my tireless Calculations the dynamic trio should be all you see bidding over from Gangstra Land to the Promised Land other then new hires... Your seniority in the Promised Land is safe sir, and when the dream team can hold decent lines in the abused red headed step child base most will likely go back. Unless we are forced or exiled back... Time will tell!

Hey guys, just curious (from your experience on the line) that if a west coast base were to open, say LAX SFO or even SLC, would it go senior or junior? Are there many commuters from out west/mountain west?

Also, I remember reading a few pages back that the target for this wave of hiring was about 140-180 pilots. Once they meet that number will the hiring stop, or will it just come to a slow trickle until it's time to hire for the next round of flows? (next August)

Thanks gents!

Who's #3 in the dynamic trio?

Don't know if anybody else listened to the conference call this week. Seems like a new base is likely, sometime in the next week. I'm doubtful they close any of the current bases though, since they can staff the new base with new hires and upgrades and a couple of voluntary displacements and not have to pay moving expenses...

Anybody else have any thoughts?

Didn't listen but I agree with this.

Would that just over staff the airline as a whole then? How much time before a new base opens would they post a vacancy bid?

They would post the vacancy shortly after the announcement most likely...with an effective date of when they want to commence flying there.

It wouldn't really change the staffing levels, since they would just stop creating positions in msp/dtw or just not fill the vacancies as ppl are hired or upgrade. If there wasn't all this movement happening here, it would be a different story.
