Layover food

I live on this island where dutch descendants are the equivalent of royalty in their own minds (but nobody else). It's embarrassing. And they are obnoxious people, culturally. Literally the worst people. I can't actually think of a more offensive group of people than dutch people or their American descendants. They were bad enough in their homeland. Talk about entitlement

Poop. Paywall.
Barley Swine
Craft Omakase
Hestia
Olamaie
Interstellar bbq
La barbecue
Leroy and Lewis

Them beef cheeks at L and L….O. M. G.

Barley Swine is also fantastic, we use to walk there some nights after work for dinner during Covid when indoor dining wasn’t a thing but get it to go and eat it on the curb.

I'm a food nerd. I've been to at least two Michelin Star restaurants and I've been, well, underwhelmed.

There was one I went to, all expenses paid "if you want the $2500 bottle of wine, at least have two to make it worth the Sommelier's effort" followed by dusty-bottle Champagne + "bumps" of Osetra experiences in Toulouse, France in the company of people that probably have weekday socks that are more than my entire wardrobe collection and it was, at best, pretty good but, by far, not the "fin de siècle" experience you'd expect.

Just incase you’re on a layover near one of these places. (All in Austin)

I went to high school with the pitmaster at La barbecue. Mention my name when you go there And you'll get charged 2x the posted rates.
