Ok you convinced me :) Looks like a good meal before a redeye that I might have coming up

FWIW, the short amount of time I've spent in Turkey, I found it to be one of the most culturally fascinating countries I've ever visited. We were on the south coast, rather than Istanbul, but damn, the food was incredible too. Best seafood spots I've ever been to.

Forgot to take a picture but I just had some very good Achari Bhindi with sesame naan (which I have never seen anywhere else) at Karahi Adda in Westbury, New York (JFK area).

I looooooove bindhi! I am biased because I am Indian, but I firmly believe Indian cuisine is the best in the world. It's one of the few where you can go vegetarian or even vegan and still eat really well with tons of diversity and options.

If you're in the NYC area I would highly recommend Adda in Long Island City. Their sister restaurant Dhamaka won best restaurant in New York City in 2021 and a bib gourmand. Adda is more informal and street food oriented but has many of the same dishes as Dhamaka (if you havent had indian street food you're missing out)

I see this and think, "ah man, I love Indian food!"

And then memory of the consequences comes flooding back.

I love Indian food as well. I had the chance to eat at Dishoom when I was in London over the summer. I’m always nervous about overhyped places where you have to stand in line to get a table but I thought it was really good. Good cocktails too!

Like the “cronut” craze. The line moved slow because of all the influencers taking those “I jushhhh dish’covered…” selfie videos. :)

It was labeled “noodle sauce” 😂 like @derg said, it was most probably tamari

Or, technically, light soy, mirin and dash. I think Tamari on its own may be too pungent.

*SIGH* get on the 350 to see the world and basically split my life between Scottsdale and Seoul.

Yup. I'm out as soon as I see the plant wall with neon 'Brunch Everyday' sign. I gave Dishoom a chance because Padma Lakshmi from Top Chef ate there on an episode and recommended it to someone on Twitter later on.
