I was confused there for a minute you were trying to make a valid point. Well played.

Who would have thought going to gulfstream would pay off in the end.
You'll be furloughed or working at a major by then. For some the SSP will work out great. Not for me or you but for others.
There aren't many Gulfstream pilots left at Pinnacle. We all moved on years ago. To places like Delta, United, Continental, Southwest, AirTran, JetBlue, etc. Hopefully you'll still be able to sleep at night.
I agree 100% with you. I'm just worried for my coworkers that are at my same relative seniority that are just sitting back and waiting for Delta HR to give them a cold call inviting them to ATL. Just to add to my original 9 year estimation, that's IF Delta hires continuously for 9 years and as Cav alluded to, I don't know the last time any Major hired that many people continuously and I highly doubt that it will happen this time. Expect the worst and hope for the best I guess.
Then again it's less competition for me...I should be selling the crap out of this thing to everyone telling them to wait it out and don't apply anywhere else, EVER!!!

Okay. I wasn't sure if the engine type played a role in its performance issues. I don't think Airbus is willing to go back and redesign anytime soon. I work more with our Airbus 319/320's than I do with the rest of our fleet. I guess I'm the Airbus guru when it comes to material support, configuration issues. It doesn't matter the engine. We have some IAEs on the East, too. The only difference I've found with the IAEs vs. the CFMs is that the IAEs seem to be a bit quieter. The do, however, take FOREVER to start and there's a glitch with our IAEs that won't uplink the Performance Data when the Final W/B comes in. It's not the engines. It's the wing. It has the same wing as a 320, but weights 30,000+ lbs more.

I don't mean to sound like a smart ass, and I know nothing about the airlines, but if I am reading your question correctly, no you do not have to wait to apply anywhere. You may not get a call, but why would you think you cannot apply on your own?Probably been answered somewhere in the depths of another thread but can someone that is at Endeavor that is far down the list be looked at now or do they have to wait their turn?
LOL. Best of luck with that.If you are employed by an airline with an agreement of sorts whatever this SSP entails (I left 9E before the info got out) Delta could be held to the list and if you are on it you would have to wait your turn. I was directing this at someone who actually knows something thanks.

I have read that people have been told at job fairs by the manager of pilot selection that they cannot cut. The only way is if they are magically the selected. The SSP allows 3 of the 12 to be out of order.Ugh. I'm just trying to see if there was language in the agreement that prevents or at the least inhibits people from leapfrogging the list if their application comes up or he/she is the CP's kid or whatever. I just know there are people there who have prior experience that could, if there isn't said language in place, get on with a major but would be screwed if they had to wait their turn.

Actually I read it was AK. There was a big thread over on the other site and Airlink, a guy went to WIA and was told that.I know you don't know, but I'd LOOOOOOOVE to know which recruiter supposedly said this.
