I like how the guy they're interviewing on CNN now basically keeps saying "Everyone STFU, nobody knows what happened yet."

He's great. CNN talking head keeps trying to get him to say some something else but he's way too smart for CNN.

If the initial report of two dead is accurate then it's quite fortunate all things considered...

Wow...just heard the talking head on CNN say that the 737-757-767 are not considered "Heavy" aircraft...

Heavy is Max Certificated Takeoff Weight Greater than 300,000 lb. 752 and 753 no longer qualify

I remember one of my professors saying the 757 was only classified as heavy because of its wake turbulence or something.

until he said a B767 wasn't heavy, and an A380 was.

I'm surprised people even watch the "news" for more than 30 seconds. I heard about it while walking into the FBO and Fox news was on with "experts". It's all sensationalism with no facts. I wish someone would just say "An Asiana 777 crashed with xxx amount of people on board, SFO is closed for the moment and we'll get back to you when we have more information" instead of turning it into a ratings story.

What are you, a socialist?

Correct me if I'm wrong... (Derg dasleben) but I thought both 757s and 767s were generally "Heavy", contrary what the CNN Expert is saying...
All I know is that I'm paid "Medium Lift" rates at work. :p

But really, all 767s are heavy, but as others have said, 757s are no longer are designated "Heavy" on the radio.

Gotta keep the viewers glued!

Breaking story. This just in. We just have an update on this terrible crash. Etc.

It's going to be an interesting to see this investigation from a human factors/long haul system operating view.
