North side of Des Moines. Not bad if you like wide open spaces, country music, snow, cold, ham, and corn.
The less desirable the locale the better the pay and QoL, right? Supply and demand and all that and you left out the cheap cost of living. Besides as the pilot you're likely flying the wealthy higher ups to destinations now and then that aren't snowy and cold and if they are they're sometimes near very nice ski resorts. Here's hoping the pilot market improves, but sometimes family life comes first and folks need to settle in places where there family and in-laws are, where they can comfortably raise a family or just live where there originally from.

It's a nice suburb of Des Moines. 3rd fastest growing town in the US (as of a year a few years ago at least).
