JetBlue Pilots Association

Not trying to start a war here... but I'm wondering something...

You guys who rant incessantly against the non-union carriers. Let's say you're trying to make it home for some special occasion. Do you spend another night in base so that you can take a union carrier's flight or do you take the non-union carrier home and get home quicker?
 
I ride non union carriers every once in a while to and from work. To me, the jumpseat is not a political tool.

I don't want to say never, but Southwest will never go ALPA. What about that other airline, something like American.

If I'm not taking them, isn't it kind of hypocritical to ask them for a favor?

Blue shirt, Black pants and blazer. Blue (and a bit of back) stripes on the blazer and epaulets. the tie is blue and black. I'd say the blue is slightly richer than the background of the forum page.

Actually the pants are dark blue. Epaulets are hard to describe. They are on dark blue material (same as pants), with lighter blue stripes that have silver on either side. They look better than they sound. There are about five different ties to choose from with different patterns.

I can't find a decent picture to paste.

Cold up there in BGR? I live near AUG.

Did you ever commute out of BGR from May 05 to Apr 07? I worked for Comair at BGR. PMs would be fine. I met the guy that left Comair for JB quite a bit, real nice guy, but can't remember his name.

I could have sworn the pants were black. But you would know more than I do about that.;) I would agree that the stripe ribbon does look good.

Mikecweb might be coming up this way sometime in January with a friend and another JCr (a AUG based FO for colgan) Were tying to get together and you would be more than welcome to join us.

"Sorry, but I don't offer Union negotiated privileges to non-Union pilots." The latest wrinkle was a B6 guy who whipped out his AAA ALPA card. I busted him for trying to get access using fraudulent credentials. He just may get banned from jumpseating for life.
 
When I said, "Show me your Union Card," he showed me an ALPA card. Now, B6 isn't ALPA, so I looked at it a little closer and it was an AAA card.

BUSTED!
 
He was probably still carrying around his "Furloughed Status" membership card. I used to consider that acceptable, since a furloughed member is still a member, but now that all AAA pilots have had to either accept recall or resign their number, he's now officially on "Inactive Status." I wouldn't deny him right away, though. Now that a union drive is officially off the ground at JetBlue, my attitude has changed towards them. I would ask the guy if he's a supporter of the drive. If he's supporting the union drive, then "welcome aboard." If he's a dimwitted anti-union •, then "sorry, take a hike."
