For the first time in my memory, the reverse of the normal fate for airport related issues. Growing up in San Francisco, I remember all the restrictions placed on SFO because the airplane noise was disturbing the neighbors....who had all come in to the area AFTER the airport was built.

Kinda like in Seattle, when the Port wanted to build a third runway and eventually won. Houses had to be moved, plowed, landfilled, ect. Alot of people didn't want them to build it, but the airport said that the airport will run out of capacity within 20 years so something had to be done.
