Hiring tracking (opposite of furlough tracking)

This is on the info TV in our crew room:

12 pilots per month in 2013.

You guys have an info TV in your crew room? That's awesome. Are you hiring?

(ok, before anybody jumps on me, it was a joke... kind of like "what's the number for 911?")

I'd settle for working climate control in the JFK crew rooms. Giant fans get busted out in the summer and space heaters in the winter.

Hey I saw in another thread you escaped PNCL, can you share your new employer? Congrats also, my buddy is still stuck there and trying to jump also.

Or Boston. I'll take either. :)

HVY, I'm headed to JetBlue on Nov 7th.

Congrats Steve! I've been out of the JC loop for a while, but I know this is one thing you were working hard towards.

Enjoy it brother

As far as hiring news...

legacy-ASA appears to have some hiring on the horizon. Good company to come and work for, for the most part, great bunch of pilots to work with. It is my understanding that they are looking only at 1500 TT folks, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few near the 1200-1300 range are getting picked up as well. Company is trying to minimize the 1500TT requirement impact as best as they can. We have a very small number of guys who won't make it by next year, but the legacy-XJT side has easily a couple hundred falling short.

Be realistic. Even if you have CRJ experience, please, for the life of God, study prior to the interview. Company is interviewing previous Comair and Pinnacle guys but some of the candidates are being sent home because it's clear they did not study. It's not a tough interview, but please study.

If anyone would like some help, just send me a PM and I'll do what I can.

Meet the mins. Even people with recs don't get looked at until that's done.

Recently, it's people with Mil time and people with jet time and PIC. PIC could be tprop or tjet, but PIC and Jet time seem to be key. However with companies like World, Ryan Int'l and Southern furloughing, therebare a number of pilots with widebidy, Int'l time out there competing for the jobs too.

Lots of 8-9 year Comair pilots too.

Thanks. How does the retirements look over there?

FYI, looks like the pool is going to be drained pretty quickly over at B6. They just doubled the size of the class on 12/5, more interviews planned for Q1 next year with the app window re-opening around June. IMHO, I think they'll open it a lot sooner than June. I guess there are still a ton of apps on file for them to want to wait that long to re-open the window.

TSA is hiring. No idea on how many, but I have a groundschool date starting in January 8th. Looks like they're hiring mostly for attrition now, but growth in the future with at least 10 MRJ's coming in 20--.

Added in my estimated date :D
