Hiring tracking (opposite of furlough tracking)

Yea, I absolutely agree with you there. I'm just not sure United would want to stomach another operator getting into the Q400 business.
I know of at least one UAX Dash operator that seems to do alright. That, and they just added a slew of people to the training department.

I keep hearing the Q400 is horrible. Not having any direct experience with it, I can't compare it to anything but United's management seemed to think it was worth a go with RAH. Do these issues scare United from the Q400 itself?? I would say at best there's a 50% probability. If, say United's hull experts were ignorant to the Q being the main issue, they sure as heck shouldn't be now! This doesn't mean much more than rumor, but I have heard that Bombardier has been on the Line and pointing out procedures and policies that are not good for the program. If United hasn't already referenced a carrier that has had more success with the airplane, they are nuts if it is, in fact, the airplane that is the problem. I have doubts. We have a huge staffing problem, also.

I suppose that would allow RAH to be able to staff the Eagle 170's but I really just don't see them going anywhere.

I've always been perplexed as to why they choose to fly the 400 from Newark and Dulles all the way west to Denver with stops in CLE and MCI. Seems a bit streched.

Yea maybe.... I'm not convinced they would want to bite off that big of a piece all at once.

Probably true. I would be fun to see PK's response to it if it were to happen.

In any case, maybe they should just send 8-10 over here just to give RAH a hard time.

Are they operating as one single flight from EWR/IAD to DEN with two stops or are they just optimizing the Q400's usage systemwide by flying out of more than one hub using single flight legs with different flight numbers?

Seperate flight numbers. Just streaching the plane. At CommutAir we just do round robins between EWR, CLE and IAD with stops in between. They've been pretty successful with that.

When Comair was operating out of Salt Lake City we had to do the same with our aircraft. We'd do CVG to OKC then operate a flight to SLC and operate a SLC/PHX round robin

Anybody get a call for JetBlue interview for the end of the month.... I heard 26 and 27th....hoping for more calls to go out.

I've got a couple of friends interviewing on the 26th. One thought he might have to wait for the next interview, and they told him there would be more interviews in November. Likely lots more calls going out. 150+ is what we need between now and March. The pool doesn't have NEAR that many in it. And that's just until March. Look for more interview calls and the app window to open again. With SWA announcing hiring, I know more than a few guys I've talked to over here in the past 48 hours have been updating their stuff there. In fact, I had 3 guys sitting on the jumpseat on 3 different flights today, and all 3 are either a) looking to go elsewhere or b) accepting recall to Delta. Two were Airbus CAs.

That's good news! JetBlue has been my number one for a long time! I heard its going to be back to back interviews on the 26th and 27th. So far haven't heard of anybody interviewing on the 27th...I'll keep my hopes up!

Pretty much the same here. I think it'll probably re-open after this next round of interviews. November at the latest. This is, of course, a blind WAG

Thanks for the update! Looking back I should of applied back in Feb but I didn't get my ATP till June. I just figured the window would of re opened sooner. Oh well!

Just got back from recurrent. According to the OSC CP, look for the app window to open again in November. 3 classes in Oct, one in Nov and possibly another in Dec. Telling guys that interviewed this week they may be in class by the end of the year.

I heard they are changing the app process. Any inside on that?

Latest at USAir.
Planned new hire classes for the rest of the year are one class in November and one class in December. 2014 has 3 classes beginning in January, 2 in February, and 1 in March.
