Gulfstream vs King Air

If either one of them were mine, there would be blood. Careless $9.50 an hour employee and 60 million dollars worth of aircraft. Bad combo on this day. A reason why many guys don't let line service touch the airplane on the ground.

"Gulfstream broke away from the tug..." :aghast:
I've never met one person not allow line service touch a plane on the ground...
If you do they are ignant and should be slightly further from any airplane then the line techs they have no respect for.

You guys are jumping to some SERIOUS conclusions about the line service guys without having any idea what really happened.

Towbars break, stuff happens -- it's not a direct indication of negligence or clownassery on the part of the line guy.

Yeah, I'm sure the guy got fired. This is why airplane owners carry insurance.

No one was hurt, no serious damage to both aircraft and line guy was probably fired. Great theme for a new movie..........

Jumping to conclusions before all the facts are in, is a JC hallmark.

Having an equipment failure while towing is serious, you can only hope you are quick enough. I'd rather be lucky than good anytime when it happens.

I'm not what could be considered mechanically apathetic, but I don't understand why some of y'all would get so upset over something like this. :)

When I worked for Airways I had a towbar break on me during a normal push...It was a fully loaded 757 going PHX-HNL, so super heavy. Damn thing sheared off close to the tug as I had his tail sticking north onto the active taxiway...pilots had to get on the brakes real quick! I was suspended with pay for 3 days while they investigated and determined equipment failure. Poo happens ya'll.

The tug driver, all of the pilots, and the executives that flew in those planes should all be fired! INCOMPETENCE CANNOT BE TOLERATED!

The King Air pilot should lose his license for not starting it up and getting on with his boss' schedule. For goodness sake...the thing passes the 3/2/2 check; 3 wheels, 2 wings, 2 engines. What more does he want?!
