Furlough tracking

Damn, that sucks. There is a rumot that Mesa may not furlough the full 100 and may even stop now.

You know how reliable rumots are but this one goes that our COO J.B. setup this furlough all by himself without consulting the big daddy J.O.. About a week maybe after the first wave of furloughs our COO J.B. was suddenly and without warning terminated. The last part is fact, he was let go real suddenly. The rest is supposition as to why. Maybe J.O. hired someone straight out of exec school who had an "airline management simulator course" that agreed to work for half the money? ;)

We'll see what happens. I expected to hear something more but I haven't.

Got the numbers from GLA. 23 New hires total, including 6 that were taking their checkride today. Ouch.

Atlas Update

Atlas had an office in England that employed non-union, non-American (and legal right to work immigrants to America) pilots to fly Atlas metal out of Stansted England. These pilots had a "Super Seniority" over the Atlas pilots in that base. That office had a peak of 170 or so of these pilots, and was dwindled to about 42. Their latest bid eliminated this office, keeping 42 more union pilots and firing the 42 contract pilots.

The base in Standsted England is also closed.

Both major improvements for those that work there.

Polar remains unaffected by this.

To expound on the above post from me...

A snip from the combined TEC:

This award increased the size of all state side bases by about 22 percent, reduced the down-grade of 19 captains (thirteen 400 captains and six classic captains), and eliminated the scheduled crew furloughs in July.

Trans States recalling 8 effective end of Aug / early Sept. Not sure about CA upgrades, I'm sure some are coming though...

More details soon.

Atlas recalled 5 FEs.

Rumor of more work showing up shortly, stay tuned!!!

(PS, I need 17 recalls to stay safe if the list ever gets combined)

A glimmer of hope....

Is the light we see downline in the tunnel the end, or train chasing us down? Time will only tell:

TEC said:
Word from the on Line. We are hearing from the line that the newly announced service known as “Houston Express” would include foreign pilots not on our seniority list. There is NO truth to this rumor. All flying will be done from the pilots on our seniority list. Currently, we have 62 pilots on furlough and no plans to hire outside of our seniority list. Any hiring to our seniority list will be done after the 62 pilots are recalled.

Re: A glimmer of hope....

Sure as hell sounds optimistic.

Why mention hiring if there was not forecasted growth in your respective sector? Or at least thats how my 10 IQ brain reads it.
