Well I'm not sure what your background is, but I'm always surprised by how many pilots think there are all these awesome jobs outside aviation with great pay and QOL. Having worked in engineering for 5 years before professionally flying, there's no way I'm ever going back to that BS unless I have to. And if I have to, I'm leaving it ASAP to fly at the airlines again. Even my skywest CA job was WAY better in numerous ways. A legacy job is magnitudes better.

I concur with this assessment, although I only did 1 yr engineering before the airlines.

Either you're trolling in a thread about something that really shouldn't have trolls in it or you really need to talk to somebody professionally. This is some serious stuff people are potentially facing and there is absolutely nothing wrong with getting some help with dealing with the unknown.

Therapy is available, even for people stuck in the garlic bread (and who are we kidding... it's going to be sourdough) line.

Was going to send as a pm... but probably a good reminder for people who aren't being so public about their fears too.

Or maybe they’re seeing an increase in bookings and an upward swing in demand and decided they don’t want all those pilots in training all summer and would rather have them available so they can capit....

LOL sorry, I couldn’t even finish typing that. They’re definitely trying to furlough October 1st and not December 1st. Reduce the cash burn so they can get to “net zero” by their desired date. Can’t say I’m really surprised. I’d expect a reduction (furlough) bid within a few weeks, which should provide a much clearer picture on the number of us who will be booted to the street come fall.

If humping the question of furlough/industry strife is starting to chafe, stop humping.

It seems like a select few the last few years have come on here and made this like APC and CC. It’s always the same people. It’s unfortunate.
 
I remember when Martin and I were part of the JC in-crowd. Shuffled back to the sidelines again.

Some of us are more than others. Yours and mine? Worse case right seat still pulling over 170k. Beef guy? Laid off making $0 plus unemployment. Quite a big difference. I completely understand his frustration and I actually think it's healthy to vent. Yes the attack on mikecweb was personal and uncalled for, on the other hand, mikecweb just took offense at Beef's take on cargo carriers versus staying at a regional. Coulda just let that go.

It's a tough time for all but moreso for some than others. I give lots of leeway to anyone soon looking at being laid off. I also commend you and the mods at JC for being lenient and letting people vent. It's healthier to do it here than in front of their families. Just my 2 cents. Thank you :)
