Furlough Estimates

Only the last decade but I grew up near Ann Arbor. I miss the good food, ridiculous city ordinances, and referring to it as “50 square miles surrounded by reality”. The UP is a nice place to have a summer retirement home/camp at. Less chance of getting COVID, friendly people, no traffic, and great outdoor rec opportunities.

Cool, any experience with the militia? Because this looks like Timmy And Friends From The Thumb to me.

I'm from the thumb, originally. Watching these no talent as sclowns while growing up has given me a health respect for how serious they are about destroying the government.

No I’ve never had aspirations to be in a militia. I’m actually employed by the complete opposite end of the spectrum from a militia. Malcontent grumblers are everywhere. Even in the inner-city and in other nations. Only difference here is that we have the inherent freedom of being allowed to voice a difference in opinion. These radicals respond to our actions. Generally if you ignore this people they fade away. I’ve dealt with them and when they overstep the line and it usually ends up with free knuckle sandwiches. I get weak recurrent training on this now as it seems to be getting more popular (YouTube “First Amendment Audit”). The LEO’s need to know exactly where the lines are drawn and if they have the backing of the US Attorney or local prosecutor.
Regardless, the Fed knew about your Thumby neighbors and it’s a shame they didn’t sweat them out before what happened 25 years ago.
Lots of these d bags are watchlisted but there aren’t enough assets on the ground to catch them in the act. No different than the murderous terrorists in the EU; all seem to have been watchlisted but they haven’t been able to legally detain them before the rampage. That should be shocking to many as we’re referring to progressive governments in nations that have substantially more control over their people.

Because they can and it’s none of your damned business.
And the lawmakers in the legislature sided with the protestors. Guess they did a good job, huh?

Yes, you’re right of course. When the colonists were unhappy, they just calmly explained their position and picketed rather than doing something intimidating like throwing tea overboard.

So it was other people’s business and the purpose was to intimidate. Thank you for the clarification.

Coming back to this topic from earlier in the thread, unfortunately it seems this was wishful thinking. Warren Buffett announced yesterday that he has sold his entire stake in all 4 airlines and has exited the industry. He was one of, if not the, single largest shareholders in each of the big 4.

I watched his explanation yesterday via live stream, so glad that I sold those stocks on the April high.

True description. Why do you find it amazing that they are exploiting their inherent rights? They are just at the end of the spectrum. Not much we can do about it. Just a different flavor of a legal hooligan.

I think the point that @Derg is trying to get at, is that if this was Black Lives Matters, or someone dressed like Mujahideen, then they would have been shot on sight.

Nah, still none of your damned business. But yes, I do quite like it when lawmakers are intimidated. They should live that way all the time, scared to death of their constituents so that they do what we want instead of what they want. An armed and angry citizenry leads to a polite legislature.

Which is silliness, of course. Anyone who believes that the Black Panthers would have been shot on sight in the Capitol during a pandemic is nuts. No one was getting shot there unless they shot first.

It’s already happened, with no mass bloodbath: The Black Panthers group marched into the inside of the California State Capitol in Sacramento decades ago, armed to the teeth with rifles, shotguns, and pistols (prior to California rigid gun control laws) and staged a protest on the Senate floor. No one was shot on sight. They also had several protests in other states where they were legally openly-armed and brandishing open-carry weapons. Again, no violence ensued, from either them or the police.

Long time ago indeed, and gun laws in many of these areas have become far more restrictive; but for areas where protesters are complying with legal open carry (areas that have that), then chances of anyone being “shot on sight” by police, are pretty nonexistent.

Hell man, do you know how people look at me when I wear a mask into a store? They think they’re getting robbed sometimes. That’s just special. Now imagine if I had an AR-15. That’s my world.

Imagine if you were wearing a red or blue rag as a mask while carrying that AR...I went with a neutral color for just that reason...

@Dergdonesn't have to be wearing gang colors and carrying an AR to be gunned down.

He or I could just be jogging through a neighborhood and "minding our own damned business" and be gunned down.

Yeah, but us white people want to go to Cracker Barrel. We are being repressed!

Wow. That’s insane. I’ve been told several times in the past to “go back to my country” and asked if I speak English. So there’s that

I don't mean to contribute to the thread drift, but if some of you think the outcome would have been the same in today's world with a bunch of ISIS flagged dudes legally carrying their AKs and doing the same thing...well then I got a bridge to sell ya.

Y'all Qaeda would most certainly not be singing praises.
