Slightly nudging back onto the subject
PSA and PDT appear to be doing some limited hiring. PDT due to being permanently short staffed, PSA god knows why.
ENY isn't planning to requal the recalls until some time late summer. Six ex-BA E170s are coming on property in 65 seat config, grand idea being that in some distant eventuality all 145s get replaced with those. 65 seat 170s is AA's CRJ550, currently RPA and ENY are planned to fly these. As of yesterday ENY got the limited EOW, extending the 50nm offshore to 162nm for MIA base and DFW MEX flying.
Some RPA dudes are p****d and threatening JS war on Eagle painted a/c on APC, I'm sure that's gonna go well. Between this last thing and taking 20 mins to get out of the alley in ORD, things feel almost back to normal

Recruise can also bite ya if you recruise more than once on the way down if directed to start stepping down early. The FMS speed will slow down and then you have to either speed intervene or re punch the desired FMS speed and transition. Happened to me a few times going into CVG, I didn’t notice but when center told me to speed up for traffic I noticed the FMS Mach speed was much lower than .79 or.80. Good lesson learned, so now I’ve backed the recruise vs des now to 80nm and only recruise one time. Anyone shed light on why the speed adjusts during recruise in the Mach levels?? I’m new to all this jet stuff lol

That has to do with your cost index. There is no reason to overthink. If ATC asks you to speed up, there is nothing wrong with speed intervening. The box is planning your descent profile based on the STARs speed/altitude restrictions. With over 1000hrs on the airplane, I haven't had any issues recruising the box. VNAV SPD isn't bad as long as you know what is actually happening. I say this because, nearly all our new hires in the last year (minus @Boris Badenov of course - he's essentially a walking encyclopedia) had no idea the difference between VNAV SPD and PATH.

Okay, that's enough thread drift, back to furlough talk.

Lol, how is someone jealous of those in the industry. When said person choose to leave?

It’s a great example of how all social media is toxic. Dude has never met me in his life. Thinks he knows everything about me, even thinks he reads my mind. If he and I were sitting in a cockpit flying a trip together, though, probably get along just fine. This medium poisons everything and everyone in it.

I am exactly the same in real life as I am on a forum or FB or any other on line place. I know and understand the whole keyboard warrior thing exists, because I see people who I know in real life are totally cool being complete asses on line, but I don't get how somebody get all of the sudden get BDE just because they've got a keyboard in front of them.

My responses are better online because I have time to think about. My best responses usually come in the middle of the night, many hours later.

I swear a lot more in person, thankfully.

Oh, I think you are a bit different. I think there are things you’ve said here that you wouldn’t say in person. It’s certainly less pronounced in you than in me, for example. But it’s there. I do know a handful of people who I think are absolutely no different. But it’s incredibly few.

Not in how I treat people or their opinions. Like @jtrain609 , I probably swear a bit more than here and possibly I pun less, but that's about it.
