Furlough Estimates

One could also argue that her skill set would be useful in a global pandemic. Just the knowledge of how to use single use gloves and other PPE. If there was a crushing demand on hospitals and hospital workers getting sick your sister would likely be a highly sought after commodity.

I’ll certainly let her know that @BEEF SUPREME on Jetcareers, and a pilot, has a valuable opinion that she needs to consider. :)

My sister is a nurse and is on furlough. But she’s also a nurse that works for a Cosmetic Surgeon and with the ban on elective surgeries, there’s not a strong case that the Hannahs and the Brooklyns need to have emergency sets of silicone/saline after-market bolt-ons during the Pandemic. She really can’t go down to the local hospital and tag herself in.
If that ain’t considered essential, well this pandemic is getting personal.

Well. Cool snark and all but other than a few cities in the US there are is no incentive pay for healthcare workers and many are being furloughed. One could say the healthcare worker shortage is over along with the pilot shortage.

Dude, my middle name is “Snark”.

All I know if that a lot of people talk about layoffs in the medical industry and try to extrapolate it to support an inaccurate statement.

I try to stay in my wheelhouse and generally rebuffed the constant offers to join the “Dunning Kruger Pilot Think Tank” which solves all the worlds problems, with simplicity, from cockpits and pilot lounges.

I'll just be happy when my coworkers are no long epidemiologists, and they can go back to being amateur financial advisors and end times preppers.

I didn’t post there to begin with, but the C2020 fb page and the forum are ridiculous. Talk about the same dozen guys circling the wagons and then shooting inside the circle, over and over and over...

Other than the medical field friends being panicked about hospitals being overwhelmed and scolding me for being concerned about the economy and societal cost of SIP, then the same medical friends being panicked about losing their jobs. I've been using a few resources to track the state of how overwhelmed the hospital system is.

The Healthdata.org Website seems pretty legit to me. And it says we are post peak by about 2 weeks now. Am I missing something by saying that the hospitals are not overwhelmed?

In NJ the hospitalizations (census numbers) are down about 1,700 in the last two weeks. According to NYU Medicals own radio station, NYC hospitals are not overwhelmed and are looking to start up elective procedures, meaning not urgently needed at this point in time as opposed to cosmetic surgery.

Tell that to my cousin who was aghast she couldn’t have her eyebrow lift done before “holiday this summer”...

In all fairness it’s been a complete blast to fly with the preppers recently. They’re much more willing to talk about it now that the, “event I’ve been telling everyone would happen and has now finally happened has happened...”

And then they start bitching about how Applebee’s is closed.

I’m all for the right to bear arms. With that said I still cannot understand why these protesters needed to bring firearms let alone assault rifles to a rally. What am I missing?
They’re not really protesting lockdown. They’re antigovernment and probably white supremacist, at least judging by the confederate and kek flags they were waving last time.

Must be nice. You know damned well if you, @KLB and I tried to pull sone sh— like that off, it wouldn’t be a “Yeah, MERKA” moment and would end up with death.
