Furlough Estimates

BTW...y’all know what tomorrow is, right?

I just got a new computer about a month ago and I'm the process of moving old archived stuff over from the old one (next time it's all going into dropbox and I'll let god sort out the details) I deleted my old psa folder. The sticker template was in there.

Oh, I suppose I should say this since it’s on topic.

We awarded something like all but one of the EILs and forty (?) of the VILs in each seat. For those that don’t speak Ned, EIL = a multi month, no obligation 50 hour leave (3, 6, 8 months). The VIL is the standard “go away for a month” and receive 50 hour thing we’ve been doing since around the start of the pandemic. You still have to be current, and can’t take a VIL if you’ve a training event in that month. After an EIL, you have to do requal of some sort. I myself commence 3 months beached on October 1; the long term lines went surprisingly (disappointingly, for me - I really wanted one) senior.

The position bid opens on the 20th, at which point we’ll know how much we’ve got to pay the devil.

Yup, over 99% of EIL’s being taken is awesome. I personally received a 8 month EIL so the FO’s I fly with better not be too harsh on my skills when I return from 14 months without flying lol. Getting paid well to not have a transcon commute to RSV and enjoy exploring the west coast for the next 9.5 months? Happy I could do my part;)

I’m super bummed I only got 3, really, but also quite happy I got an EIL period.

I would've been allll over the 8 or 6 month EILs if I had been eligible to bid. Still out on disability, unfortunately. Probably be back just in time for everyone to go out on their respective leaves. Who knows, I can easily see demand remaining flat for much longer than they're anticipating and an additional round of EILs being required.

Yeah. Personal opinion, as much as I’d like this to be over soon, I don’t think it will be over anytime soon

You obviously never heard about their chocolate cake crisis.
Oh, I have. While sympathetic, I approached it about like the guy who said he “had” to make 100+ hours of Airbus captain pay so that his ex wife wouldn’t totally clean his clock, to wit:

“Oh no! Anyway.”
