Furlough Estimates

When they say a recovery date, they are talking about a return to 2019 levels. Like I said before, travel doesn’t have to be at that level for airlines to make a profit. Delta has reported an annual profit for the last 10 years until this one. The way i see it, we only have to get back to 2010 passenger loads.
They are talking recovery date for europe i believe and flag carriers for europe which are government subsidized or outright owned. The economist is calling, like every year, for liberalizing the national carrier status like we did in the 70s.

I dont get the print version anymore where it was easy to see the distinction between britian or europe and the rest, but they have that article in the leaders section, not the US section.

New guess for UAL zero involuntary furloughs until at least May 2021.

I HIGHLY suggest folks call their reps to give feedback/guidance.

Very interested in this development. Would you be willing to give us a peak at what the MEC is cooking up?

Good. Temporary paycuts are a horrible response.

Agreed, that's absolutely a non-starter. I'll happily explore any/all furlough mitigations as they pertain to early retirements, leaves of absence or reduced credit lines, etc. However, the gutting of the CBA in any way, shape, or form is a hard nope! We've played that game as an industry in the past and it has never worked out as far as I'm aware (could very easily be wrong). We take pay and work rule cuts and the company still furloughs up to and including their original number.

Company wins twice, pilot group...not so much.

Yes indeed. Not a great, er, "crisis play."

While I speak for absolutely no-one on this issue, if I were entitled to do so, my position would be: "FPLD with the understanding that day cometh and possibly right soon - but until that day, full pay—and then on that day, there's the devil to pay."

(Or JPMorgan Chase, but whatever)
