Ugh... 31% at Herb's airline would be somewhere very early 2014.

The situation calls for profanity; I have used some. :)
I have to admit, Im in a weird position when Im telling guys every day i think its all gonna be fine. I am citing this as proof im a realist forever. In great times im reserved, in terrible times Im gonna tell ya everything is gonna be fine and the world will keep spinning.

I mean, I more or less "solved" what was going to happen back in April, myself. Doesn't really make it more pleasant, of course.

Truth of the matter is other than the obvious "I'm probably going to be unemployed," I wouldn't change much about my time here, and I can't wait to come back.

Really starting to get worried. Well worrieder. Can’t get a first class medical until at least March, so flying jobs are out. Need insurance to pay for treatments to get medical back. No job is no insurance. Crap is getting really existential here...

I’m really sorry you are going through that. Is the RAH pilot group putting together a COBRA fund?

Don't even get me started on people calling Santa Maria/California style tri-tip "BBQ". There is a difference between bbq'ing and grilling. Tri-tip falls on the grilling side.

Long story short, as a guy from the west coast (the PNW no less), the term "BBQ" means "grilling" to us. True BBQ isn't a thing really. I never really had it growing up, only really after college when I was in the military in the US south/TX. I don't think it is as much them thinking what they do is "BBQ" in your terms......it just is standard phraseology for putting meat on a grill, aka a BBQ. Much like "skiing" to us means up in the mountains. Southerners qualify the statement with "snow" skiing. Nobody from where I come from would ever say "snow skiing". It is assumed.
